Do you have that one friend that parties way harder than you?

That when you go out with them and are not in the mood, that friend just drives you insane? Maybe you are that friend!

If you do, then this bird completely understands.

One bird was in the mood to dance and the other bird is completely embarrassed by his bird friend.

One cockatoo was really feeling the beat, but the other was not at all!

Cockatoo’s and parrots have the ability to dance to music, which is a very unique trait for an animal. It is explained that,

“A cockatoo dances by bobbing his head and kicking his legs to the beat…cockatoos are capable of understanding a beat and moving to it the same way humans do. Because cockatoos are mimicking birds, their brains are hard-wired to connect sounds with motor skills.”

An owner of two birds decided to put on a solo performance for his captive audience. He brought out his guitar and started playing Elvis Presley’s “Don’t Be Cruel.” The cockatoo on the right is feeling the music from the very beginning and starts to dance!

The bird starts shaking his head to the beat and looks at the other bird as if trying to convince him to dance too!

It does not take long for the cockatoo that is dancing it up to take it even further and spread out his feathers! There is a reason that a cockatoo will display this move. That is,

“When he’s feeling really showy, he might lift the crest of feathers on top of his head, or spread his wings.”

The moment the cockatoo spreads his feathers, the other starts moving away even further. He is not in the mood to dance no matter how much his friend is. The friend might have moved away but that does not bother the dancing cockatoo at all.

Instead of trying to get his friend to dance he puts his focus back on the guitarist and dances with himself.

After a moment of solo dancing, the dancing cockatoo goes back to the other cockatoo hoping he has changed his mind. He has his crown feathers all spread out and starts bopping his head to the beat, hoping to get his fellow bird to dance with him.

The other cockatoo is still not feeling the music and puts one leg up, as if it say “no thank you and please back up!”

The dancing cockatoo starts to let his crown feathers drop a bit and slows his head bopping. He must be hoping to slowly get his friend to dance, that if he slows down maybe he will join in. The other bird scoots away even further.

The dancing cockatoo finally gets the message that he will not have a dancing partner, so he is back to dancing solo and does not care at all! This cockatoo has all the moves, just like Elvis Presley himself.

The music is too strong for the dancing cockatoo and he starts to dancer harder than he has the entire song so far! He is feeling the song. It’s time for his wings to come up and dance too.

The cockatoo saved his best moves for last and they were the show stopper!

Throughout the entire song the second cockatoo does not dance an inch. The owners uploaded the funny video to Facebook with the caption,

“When your friend starts getting a bit too into it!”
