Some children are known for their expertise in music, others in sports. But some children have abilities that are simply out of this world. One mother believes her son is telepathic, and she just might be on to something.

Ramses Sanguino is not your typical 7 year old boy. He lives with his mother, Nyx, in Los Angeles, and the two share many wonderful adventures together. Nyx first realized that her child was gifted when he was only an infant.

Ramses was blowing his mother’s mind before most children could even talk. By the age of 2 he had begun to speak Japanese, and by 5 years old the boy was writing in Ancient Greek. Ramses now speaks 7 languages, which is an exceptional accomplishment for any young child.

This little boy has many talents, but his linguistic abilities are not the only aspects that set him apart from his peers. Ramses is actually autistic. In fact, his mother considers him a savant: a gifted individual with talents that extend far beyond those of most people.

“Since he was a baby he didn’t like toys,” Nyx explained on Barcroft TV. “He just loved reading books.” The young boy has no problem burying his nose deep inside a book, which is definitely rare for a child his age. Big or small, it doesn’t seem to matter – all books hold value in Ramses’ eyes.

This young boy is definitely intelligent, but there is something else that sets him out from the crowd. His mother claims that he is telepathic. The two love to play a numbers game together, and the results seem to indicate that Ramses can read his mom’s mind.

First Nyx writes a set of numbers on a white board, careful not to show it to Ramses. Then it is up to him to guess what the numbers are. His accuracy in predicting these digits is remarkable. In fact, Ramses’ results are so impressive that he has caught the attention of a scientist who studies claims of telepathy.

Dr. Diane Hennacy Powell is a neuroscientist who received her M.D. from The Johns Hopkins University. She is constantly working to uncover neurological mysteries, such as the one posed by Ramses. Her theories range from “how calendar calculation and prime number derivation can be done by someone who can’t do basic math” to “why autism and learning disorders are skyrocketing.”

When Dr. Powell heard about Ramses’ incredible abilities, she knew she had to see them for herself. The doctor drove out to the boy’s home and prepared a scientifically rigorous test to evaluate his telepathic abilities.

Dr. Powell selected an integer-generating website to ensure that the numbers would be selected completely randomly. She then handed playing cards to Nyx; each card represented a number that had been selected by the site. As Nyx held each card in her hand, it was up to Ramses to call out the number on the card.

At the end of the test, Ramses had correctly guessed 3 out of the 5 numbers. Dr. Powell explained that the chance of Ramses guessing these 3 numbers correctly was 1 out of 729 – an incredibly small percentage for anyone to be able to achieve.

While the evidence did not prove conclusively that Ramses is telepathic, Dr. Powell still believes that the gift of telepathy is very real. Ramses could have developed this unique ability as a way to communicate with his mother, since as an autistic child his usual means of communicated are stifled.

“I am as confident that telepathy exists as I am of a lot of things that are actually accepted by science,” Dr. Powell stated boldly.
