Over the years, there’s been a wide range of musicians who’ve covered the Queen classic. We’ve heard renditions from a cappella group Pentatonix, country star Jennifer Nettles, and even the Muppets took a crack at it too. In addition to these musical interpretations, other performances involving “Bohemian Rhapsody” have surfaced on the internet as well.

One of these unforgettable acts took place during the Radix dance competition in Anaheim, California. It all started with seven girls dressed in black stepping onto the stage.

The dancers were all part of a company called Project 21 and according to Rumble, they were between the ages of 10 and 12. When the epic introduction to “Bohemian Rhapsody” began to play, the girls sprang into their jazz routine.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” is a masterpiece that contains different music styles. The dancers in the video perform movements that perfectly go along with them.

The first section of their routine is slightly slower – but full of expression, matching up with the lyrics most of us know by heart. It’s as if they’re acting the song out with their moves.

But as we know, “Bohemian Rhapsody” is full of sudden musical twists.

The track is cut down for the girls’ performance, and only a short time in switches to the opera portion. One girl seems to take Freddie Mercury’s central role, but all together they bust out moves that mirror the whimsical lyrics. According to OperaWire, the legendary frontman was a huge lover of the music style.

There’s a sudden explosion of energy on stage when the song morphs into rock-and-roll.

Even the crowd can’t hold back their cheers watching the girls adapt to the new genre. As listed on the YouTube channel, the routine was choreographed by Molly Long, who’s a professional in the industry. The combination of the girls’ talent, the music, and the fantastic choreography is what makes it a sensational performance.

The dancers’ movements simmer down once they get nearer to the end of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Freddie Mercury famously once said:

“You can do what you want with my music, but don’t make me boring.”

The Project 21 dancers’ act certainly doesn’t do that. It beautifully complements the lyrics and is beyond entertaining to watch. But we’re not the only ones who thoroughly enjoyed it…

Not only did the audience cheer wildly at the end, but apparently, the judges were quite impressed too.

The group was named first-place champions in the “Junior Jazz Group” category during the Radix Dance Convention. In addition to that, their performance has been watched more than 965K times online and has received 16K “likes.”

Queen’s 1975 song “Bohemian Rhapsody” has earned its own accolades over the years.
