No matter how different two people may be, they can always find something that unites them. There is always a way to find a connection with someone, even if they are your complete opposite. These two animals are unmistakable proof of that fact. Their unlikely friendship has amazed millions.
This black house cat had been on his own for a while. Recently, he made an appearance at the Folsom City Zoo, where everyone was surprised to see him. Interestingly enough, when choosing his new home this feline decided he would be comfortable in the bear exhibit.
The zoo keepers first discovered him when they were scattering dog food for the bears to eat. When they saw this cat eating the food, they were shocked. It was even more startling that he wasn’t afraid of the other animals. This was one brave feline.
After several feedings, the workers realized that the kitty was here to stay. The began to bring extra food to the bear exhibit where he spent his time, and they gave him the name Little Bear. Eventually, even visitors noticed this small cat meandering throughout the space without a care in the world. They were bewildered at the fact that none of the bears seemed bothered by him.
“I thought he was going to be eaten by the bear,” one young boy explained to Humankind. The two got awfully close to one another, yet they never had a problem. But there was something even stranger than the fact that Little Bear was safe with these great beasts.
Spectators were absolutely baffled at what they saw: this cat was friends with the bears. He was particularly close with one bear, named Sequoia. This 550 pound animal walked right alongside the tiny creature. The two even laid in the shade together; they actually seemed to enjoy each other’s company.
“I don’t get how that would possibly ever happen,” wondered the child as he observed the animals play. Apart from being simply from different species, the two were vastly different in size and physical ability. Still, they shared a sacred bond that was apparent to anyone watching.
This brave cat is proof that no matter how many distinctions set us apart from one another, we can always find common ground. The strange friendship shared by this cat and bear duo shows that when you keep an open mind, there are no limits on what you can do.
