When we think of cats and dogs sharing a home together, we imagine that they wouldn’t get along very well. But this cat-and-dog duo are out to prove the world wrong. They just can’t get enough of each other! You’ll never guess how they spend their bonding time.
Henry and Baloo are two of the sweetest pets a family could ask for. Henry is a loving dog who was born in New Mexico, and his best friend Baloo is a Siamese kitten mix. They absolutely adore each other. Henry and Baloo occupy their time in a unique and exciting way.
This dog-cat pair loves to go hiking! They live in Colorado with their owners, Cynthia and her boyfriend. The family takes full advantage of the incredible nature the state has to offer.
The couple first adopted Henry in 2014. They went to an adoption event where they fell in love with the sweet pup. “We looked around and Henry was just sitting there,” Cynthia explained to The Dodo. “He was like five times bigger than the other three and a half-month old puppies. And he had these long legs, and the body type of a wolf or husky.”
Cynthia was curious about this huge puppy, so she went into the pen. Henry was so excited to meet her! “He just curled up into my lap and went belly up and flipped his head over my arm. And from then, I decided that he was coming home with us.” This was true love at first site.
Cynthia and her boyfriend spend their weekends hiking, and they couldn’t wait for Henry to join in on the fun. They discovered that he was a natural-born hiker, just like them.
“I think we only had him for three days when we took him on our first hike, which was to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs,” Cynthia recalled. “He found the steepest, tallest rock around, and he ran up to the top of it to look over the edge.”
This dog definitely has a wild spirit. Cynthia and her boyfriend lovingly call him their little mountain goat. After a few wonderful years with Henry, they were ready to expand their family again.
“I really wanted a rescue kitten,” Cynthia said. “I knew that I wanted to take him anywhere – camping, hiking.” When she met Baloo, this owner got her wish.
Baloo warmed up to Cynthia quickly, but when he met Henry, the cat was instantly in love. Baloo couldn’t get enough of Henry – he constantly wanted to cuddle and play. The two grew even closer when Baloo joined in on the family hikes.
Baloo refuses to be left behind. “If I touch Henry’s leash, [the cat] will start screaming at the door,” Cynthia mentioned. “He’s very vocal.
This dog and cat pair are the cutest. Their owners couldn’t be happier to have them as pets.
“Henry and Baloo are both rescues,” Cynthia shared on Instagram. “Adopting is something that has become very important to us.” She and her boyfriend encourage other pet-lovers to look into adoption next time they want to expand their families.
These two fur balls really are a dynamic duo. It is heartwarming to see two totally different animals become the best of friends.
