Opposites Attract
Weโve always thought most animals only hang out with their same species, and theyโve proven thatโs just not the case. Everything from ducks to dogs, to snakes and hamsters, they have all found some unlikely friendships.
Interesting Pals
Now itโs pretty common for cat owners to receive special โgiftsโ from their feline companions. Cats bring gifts like dead birds and mice to their owners regularly. But one normal Saturday morning this couple woke up to their cat Marley bringing home an adorable little friend.
A Special Gift
Marley had brought home a wild bunny through the dog door for his mom and dad. Thankfully, Marley isnโt like other catsโฆ heโs just a very curious kitten. Marleyโs mom Faina Holzworth was used to receiving her gifts alive from him.. Marley isnโt the type to hurt any of the things he finds, he just really likes making new friends.
Prey To Pals
So when Faina saw the adorable bunny hopping in their bedroom she trusted Marley wouldnโt mess with the precious bunny and began recording their interaction. The little bunny was pretty unsure of his captor, while he stared Marley down not moving a muscle. Marley just laid beside him casually waiting for some sort of fun.
The Stare Down
When the sweet bunny still didnโt make any movement Marley decided to investigate the terrified bunny and make him feel a little more comfortable. The bunny hopped from the curious cat hoping that Marley the cat wouldnโt hurt him. Marley had no interest in harming his new bunny friend.
Unlikely Friendships
Even though the friendship seemed a little one-sided in the beginning, this bunny definitely felt more at ease after he realized Marley wasnโt trying to make him his next meal. These two unlikely friends were shortly having a blast with one another. The little bunny hopped through Marleyโs legs and Marley played right along.

These unusual friendships have become more and more common which have had scientists scratching their heads a bit. Gordon Burghardt, a professor of Psychology and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of Tennessee spoke about these interesting interactions saying,
โThereโs no question that studying these relationships can give you some insight into the factors that go into normal relationships,โ
Precious Pair
There are no boundaries when it comes to friendship and Marley and his bunny friend are a prime example. Just when youโd think Marley would pounce on this cute bunny for a snack, they spark a playful little hangout. Viewers on YouTube were having a great time interpreting their interaction. Tipi Dan on YouTube commented saying,
โThe cat kissed the rabbitโs ears. That is the behavior of an animal that wants to play and mother, not tease and kill. The cat my not recognize the rabbit as potential prey, but as a baby.โ
