Rocky Kanaka is a TV show host who absolutely loves dogs. Rocky has made it his mission to help dogs in need, and on his ‘Dog’s Day Out’ show, he does just that.
Rocky takes shelter dogs out on fun and unique adventures that the dogs love. Plus, Rocky is able to use the publicity to help these dogs find their forever homes.
One day, Rocky took a shelter dog to the store and bought him everything he touched. The video went viral and led to the dog getting adopted. The video was so successful, Rocky decided that he wanted to shoot a sequel.
For this video, Rocky took a little special needs dog named Freddie Mercury to the pet store. Then, he bought her everything she touched. At the beginning of the video, Rocky shared Freddie’s heartbreaking story.
Rocky was found in a pile of trash, and she had multiple broken bones and was severely malnourished.
She also had two sets of teeth, which made it difficult for her to eat. Rescuers rushed Freddie to the vet, where she had surgery. Then, the rescue group Marley’s Mutts took her in.
The rescue group placed Freddie with a foster mom named Angela. Angela fell in love with Freddie and decided to officially adopt her. Rocky was moved by Freddie’s story, and he decided to take Freddie and Angela on a shopping spree to celebrate her getting a new home.
“When I see a dog like Freddie and how hard she fought to survive, I feel like she should be taken out for the best day ever,” Rocky said.
Rocky decided that the first thing Freddie should pick out was her own doggy bed. He put three choices on the floor, and Freddie immediately gravitated towards a tiny bed that looked a little like her.
Since Freddie already had a home, Rocky decided to also bring a shelter dog named Bosco shopping with them. Freddie and Bosco worked together to decide what to buy.
Freddie has a tough time walking, so Bosco did most of the choosing.
While Bosco mostly chose things he and Freddie would both enjoy, he did pick some things that were just for him. This includes a gigantic toy that was twice Freddie’s size!
Bosco also chose a couple of water bowls, lots of treats, and a few more toys. He and Freddie both had a blast shopping.
At one point, Rocky had Bosco pick a bowl for Freddie.
He put three bowls on the ground and let Bosco pick the one that spoke to him. He chose a pretty pink bowl, and Freddie loved it.
After all of that shopping, Bosco and Freddie were naturally hungry. For a special treat, Rocky bought them puppuccinos. Freddie loved hers!
To finish up their fun day out, Rocky took Bosco and Freddie to the park.
They both had a great time running around and enjoying the fresh air. It’s clear that Rocky completed his mission of giving these two dogs their best day ever!
