Living in a standard single-family home is so last decade!
If you’ve ever watched anything on HGTV or looking on Pinterest, chances are you’ve heard of tiny homes. They are all the rage right now.
After the financial crisis in 2007-2008, it seems many felt that the only way they could afford a home was if they got a tiny home.
Tiny homes are typically even smaller than apartments, ranging anywhere from 100 square feet to 400 square feet, and they never seem to be any larger than 600 square feet.
For one family, they decided to join this movement and ditch their normal home for a tiny home!
Luke and Rachel started their tiny home journey and picked a very unique “home” to settle down in: an old, white school bus.
The expecting couple shared their renovated home on the Rachael Ray Show, showing off how they live inside of the bus by inviting cameras inside to look at everything.
When you first come in, you walk into the kitchen, which has reclaimed barn beam countertops. This is a 24-inch apartment-size stove that we run on propane. This is our fridge, which is an army fridge and it has an icebox in it.
Every cabinet in their tiny home was made by the couple. The stairs do double duty for the family, as they open up as extra storage.
From the outside, their home still looks just like an old bus, but inside, the tiny home is gorgeous and beautiful designed.
Even their daughter Charlotte has her own space in the home, and their new child will too! Charlotte has a special bedroom area for herself in the tiny home.
Even though the house is so small, they still manage to have an old-fashioned fireplace in their tiny home!
This is our fireplace. This is our primary heat source.
Along with Rachel and Luke’s tiny home, another home was featured on the Rachael Ray Show. This family created their home out of a garage!
You can see how both families manage to live extravagantly from their little homes in the video below.
Would you ever try to live like this in a tiny home? I don’t know if I could handle such limited space!
