If you have ever been a parent, you know that this is no easy task. It is hard to say what stage is the most difficult, but raising babies certainly has its obstacles. This new mother already had her work cut out for her, and a boy around her only made matters worse.

Lucy Hatami is the mother of an 8 month old baby boy. She tries to be an excellent role model for her kid, and that means bringing him along on her daily activities. One morning the two went out for breakfast at a restaurant, and her son was feeling a bit fussy.

The boy began to cry – as babies often do – and his mom did her best to attend to his needs. But it wasn’t good enough for some of the other customers. One boy in particular was rude about the whole situation.

“I wish she’d shut that thing up!” he muttered to his dad. The boy himself was in his young twenties and clearly had no idea what it was like to be a parent.

Lucy was understandably upset. She was doing the best she could, and there are no silent babies in the world. But the boy’s father didn’t let his son ruin her breakfast. He came up with the perfect response.

“Before I could even respond his dad comes up behind him clips him round the ear and says, ‘What and you think you were perfect? You were a right little sod.”

At this point, Lucy felt she had won a small victory. Clearly this man knew what it was like to deal with a baby. The mom was pleased that a fellow parent had so much sympathy.

The great response didn’t stop there. “Now stop being a brat, go up there apologize to her and offer to get her breakfast as she clearly has her hands full!” the father finished.

This mom was thrilled. The “waiter service” she received at her buffet breakfast really brightened her mood. Lucy was grateful for the parent who stood up for her.

“Thank you to that dad who even after 20 odd years still remembers the difficulty of being parents to babies!” she wrote on Facebook.

When it comes to being around small children, some people could definitely work on their patience. This mom’s story is just one example of the challenges of being a new parent.
