In a city full of busy people, seeing a beer truck getting into an accident would mean hours of traffic, police cars, and angry people.
Aside from that, we all know how the driver would feel.
You may have already seen many videos where people would gather and pick up beers on the road.
This would be total chaos.
No wonder a short clip from the city’s CCTV went viral. It shows everyone that people who care can make a tremendous difference.
It was June 29, 2022, a rainy day in Chuncheon, the capital of Gangwon Province in South Korea.
The clip starts as an enormous truck of Cass Beer takes a turn and all the beers, around 2000 bottles in crates spilled all over the streets immediately.
If you can see the clip, the side door was open, allowing all the beers to get thrown into the street.
They did not explain if the driver forgot about it or if it was unlocked while he was driving.
The beer spill covered almost the entire street. There were broken beer bottles all over the place. It was a huge mess and it looked really dangerous as well.
Then, we see the poor driver scratching his head as he realized how big the beer spill was.
He started picking up the crates of beers.
Then, we see a man coming near the beer spill. He started picking up the crates, and it seemed like he was cleaning as well.
In just a few minutes, another man came with a push brush and started cleaning.
Soon after, we see 18 people wearing gloves, holding buckets, brooms, and trash bags, all helping the driver clean up the spill.
These people did it on their own.
They didn’t know the driver, and they didn’t know each other as well. They came and helped the driver clean up the huge spill.
In about 30 minutes, the road was perfectly clean. They neatly stacked all the crates on the side of the road.
Then, all the 18 good samaritans left.
Even before the employers of the beer company came, the work was all done.
Last July 08, 2022, Cass Beer posted the video on their YouTube account.
“We are looking for the real heroes in Chuncheon. On June 29, 2000 bottles of Cass were poured out of a truck,” the beer company stated in their loosely translated YouTube video description.
They explained what happened in the video and asked the public if they could help their company find the good samaritans.
“In the rain, you came out and organized it like it was your job. Thanks to the locals further accidents or injuries were prevented. It was cleaned up in about 30 minutes. Citizens who made a real impression, we would like to visit you and express our gratitude. Thank you,” they continued.
There were many people who were worried about the driver, but the beer company assured everyone that their insurance had covered the accident and that the driver was not dismissed.
He also didn’t face any disciplinary actions.
Isn’t it wonderful to see people working together like this? No blaming, no yelling, just people who care for each other.
