Sesame Street is simply legendary. The show’s been an American staple since 1969.
Sesame Street features characters with a wide range of backgrounds, just like the modern United States. You’ve got Bert and Ernie, Big Bird, Elmo, the Count (also known as Count von Count), and of course the Cookie Monster (there was once speculation that he became the Veggie Monster for a brief period in the mid-2000s).
Turns out, kids and babies absolutely adore Sesame Street, even in 2020.
Baby Ellie May’s reaction is proof of that. Her dad sits her down at his desk and flips through a few websites before landing on none other than Sesame Street.
Before the video even starts, adorable Ellie May’s not happy at all, looking at the screen without much care. She’s a busy baby, anyway. What’s the meaning of this meeting?
She looks really bored, if not slightly agitated. Is that a frown?
Dad gives some context to the audience, “You are now about to witness the strength of Sesame Street knowledge.”
Interesting… Dad presses play.
Baby Ellie May’s face absolutely lights up.
Elmo’s voice exits the speakers. She’s left speechless, mouth completely ajar.
Dad glances at the camera. He’s loving every moment of it.
Ellie May’s completely glued to the screen by now.
I mean, just look at that smile.
Who knew Sesame Street was this powerful?
Elmo’s shenanigans continue, bringing immense joy and awe to Ellie May. Her eyes don’t leave the screen for a single moment.
This baby’s absolutely enamored!
Dad’s more than enjoying himself, too. But Ellie May’s having an absolute blast.
I wonder which Sesame Street episode they’re watching?
This is what pure joy looks like. That smile says it all.
It’s hard not to smile at her smiling!
Elmo’s a beloved character, plain and simple. He’s been spreading joy to children for many decades.
I remember being a kid, way back when. I absolutely loved him. He even refers to himself in the third person. Plus, “Elmo’s World” is fantastic!
It makes me happy that kids today are able to enjoy him equally as much.
Dad’s having a great time, too. He’s clearly overjoyed that his daughter’s happy.
Obviously, parents absolutely love it when their children are happy.
Dad and Ellie May continue to enjoy there featured programming.
Ellie May loves it so much that she sticks two fingers into her humongous smile.
The father-daughter duo continues watching their stories, absolutely delighted the entire time. They’re still all smiles.
Ellie May’s eyes remain keenly attentive. The amount of hand in her mouth seems directly correlated to her degree of joy.
At this point, Ellie May’s entire fist’s almost in her mouth.
Sesame Street is one of America’s most beloved programs, historically.
It’s been around for over 50 years now!
And to this day, the program’s lauded for its creative humor and important values. With that said, the Cookie Monster has tempered his intake of sweets in recent years.
Fortunately for kids (and parents) everywhere, Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Elmo, the Cookie Monster, and the Count (batty, batty, batty…) are still combining their efforts to spread cheer and important lessons to millions of young Americans.

The show’s practically an institution in American culture because kids and parents seem to love it so much. Ellie May and her father surely do!
