Imagine getting pulled over by your police officer father and the video of your arrest going viral. Now imagine you’re only 10 months old.
In a video that’s making waves on the internet, one Florida police officer proved that he shows no partiality when it comes to pulling over speeders.
He even pulled over his 10-month-old daughter Taylan, who was riding in her toy car down the street.
“Whoa, slow down, baby,” said the officer. “Can I see your license and registration?”
Baby Taylan responded with a face of hilarious laughter, beaming up at her dad.
“You think this is a laughing matter?” asked the officer.
But finally, he decided that Taylan wasn’t a threat to traffic, so he let her go on her merry way. She stayed sitting on her toy car, watching him climb back into his cruiser and babbling softly.
Now, the video is going viral, amassing more than 13,000 views since it was posted on June 22.
People can’t get enough of the grinning baby next to her police officer daddy.
“No license, no insurance, no registration and she’s laughing,” wrote one Facebook user. “She’s obviously milk drunk but she had her seatbelt on. She was so shocked she got stopped. Kept looking back lol. So happy no arrests were made!! Beautiful baby and daddy…”
Some commenters even pointed out how far the video had traveled, with one person saying the clip was shown on the nightly news in Tasmania.
It’s an adorable video, but it’s far from the only one showing that cops know how to have fun.
Another shared video showed several police officers driving toy cars around a store. That’s right, they were on the motorized toy cars and chasing one another around.
“Imagine the call to the manager in the supermarket,” wrote one YouTube commenter. “Sir, we got some people in toy cars driving around. You know the deal tell them to get out or you’ll call the police. Sir, they are the police.”
And of course, Taylan isn’t the first adorable baby to be caught on camera getting pulled over for reckless driving.
Another photo showed a female police officer leaning over a toddler boy in his own toy car, a bright pink Minnie Mouse car.
“I Got My First Dui Today,” read the caption. “He Was Found Asleep Behind The Wheel.” [sic]
The videos and pictures have sparked thousands of comments about sharing other stories of police officers having a good time — hopefully, when they’re not on the job, of course.
Although police officers have a reputation for being mean or grumpy, there are plenty of cops who also love to have a good time. And that’s evidenced by the videos and photos they share on social media.
As for baby Taylan, hopefully, that’s the last run-in she ever has with an officer of the law. She’ll stick to learning to walk before getting behind the wheel again.
