Making new friends can be scary, especially when you think you’re texting your mom. Due to a glitch in iMessage, Twitter user Cassidy found herself talking with a random stranger named Keri when she messaged her mother about an allergic reaction she was having on her arm. The two started off on uncertain terms, but quickly built up an affectionate repartee. We now assume they’re friends for life.
Things don’t start off well:
Like any great movie, our best friends have to hate each other in the beginning so it’s even more satisfying when they spend Christmas together from now on. But that doesn’t make it any easier to watch these two souls (who clearly have some sort of sisterly bond) get angry and trade insults. Confused, frustrated people will sometimes do things they regret!
But then things start turning around! Cassidy texts her Mom a picture of the rashes on her arm, which (of course) end up back in her new friend Keri’s inbox:
In a surprising turn of events, the stranger seems genuinely concerned about Cassidy’s arm:
Since then, the friendship has continued perfectly!
Cassidy uploaded screenshots of her new friendship to Twitter, where it’s been retweeted more than 78 thousand times! It looks like people love new friendships.
So this person has the same number as my mom and I was trying to send my mom a picture of my arm and well 😂 pic.twitter.com/keDt66gUN6
