It’s a famous traditional dance from the Ivory coast in Africa and it has been hailed as the Most Impossible Dance in the World.

“Zaouli is a traditional dance of the Guro people (who speak the Guro language) of central Ivory Coast. The Zaouli mask, used in the dance, was created in the 1950s, reportedly inspired by a girl named “Djela Lou Zaouli””

The dancer needs to wear a mask and colorful costumes while performing this breathtaking dance.
The moment the performer puts on the mask, you will immediately see the changes with his moves. The dancer will make very quick steps and it should be accompanied by hand motions.
It is a “representation of the spirit taking over the dancer’s body”.
Usually, it’s being performed during celebrations and funerals. In each community on the Ivory Coast, there’s a Zaouli dancer.

According to Star Quest Dance, women should be absent while Zaouli is being performed. Aside from that, it’s only allowed to be seen by those people who are permitted to watch.
Clearly, this cultural dance is not easy to do. It requires fast dance steps and it should follow the rhythm of the music.
It surely takes hard work and long-time practice to achieve this perfect performance.
