If you’re one of those that believe racism is a thing of the past, may I present Exhibit A.

Anna Hayes, a high school senior from Lake Village, Arkansas, recently went to prom with a friend of hers who happens to be black.

The two had a great time, and posted pictures on Facebook.

Shortly after, Hayes received some texts from her openly-racist father, saying that she was “dead” to him.

Here’s the disturbing (censored) conversation:

Hayes sent screenshots of the texts to her prom date, who posted them to social media.

People were horrified.
