This team of junior detectives saves the day, when this 97-year-old goes missing, they don’t rest until she’s found.
Glenneta Belford is a 97-year-old lady with dementia, who is mostly non-verbal. She lives in, Roseville, California, and on Monday, October 7th she suddenly went missing.
The police, who knew Glenneta suffered from dementia, immediately asked the public for assistance in finding the old lady. In the midst of the crowd, was four real-life “goonies” who knew they had to do something.
After the police announced the missing 97-year-old lady from the helicopter, the 4 junior sleuths sprung into action.
Dozens of citizens came to help, but none as dedicated as the 4 junior detectives. They grabbed their bikes and hit the road. While going down a dangerous bike path looking for Glenneta, 10-year-old Logan was thrown off of his bike and left cut up and bleeding.
Undeterred, he had his brother bandage him up and the search continued. The 4 real-life “goonies” had a mission, they wouldn’t give up until it was complete.
The determined kid detectives continue to search for the 97-year-old lady throughout the day, waiting for the big break.
After his bike crash, 10-year-old Logan was a little banged up, but he knew to rescue the old lady was more important than the pain he felt. With his 3 friends by his side, the four little sleuths amped up the search.
They knew they needed to find Glenneta before it got dark, or the situation could be much worse. After hours of searching suddenly came the break they were waiting for.
After hours of searching, the 4 junior detectives finally got their big break!
After hours of searching with no luck, the mini sleuths persevered through. They weaved in and out of the neighborhoods, and up and down trails, all to no avail.
Finally, just when it seemed that hope may be lost, the kids got their big break. A few blocks away from their houses, there she was, they found Glenneta! She was clearly confused and disoriented, Logan told the local news:
“She was right here and she was walking, and she was talking to her self and then when we came, she said no no no no no. Go away , go away, go away.”
Once the junior detectives found the 97-year-old lady, they knew exactly what to do, the little hero’s called 9-1-1.
After approaching her obviously wasn’t going to work, 11-year-old Hope called 9-1-1 and the search for the missing senior was over! These brave kids saved the day, and possibly Glenneta’s life!
This story is so inspiring! These kids really saved the day, their perseverance is truly amazing. Together, the 4 junior detectives wouldn’t let anything stop them and they learned the power of teamwork!
