As a tribute to great dads out there, TODAY’s ambush makeover team led by Jill Martin and celebrity stylist Louis Licari chose two amazing fathers worthy of an amazing makeover.
Last 2017, TODAY’s Ambush Makeover segment didn’t just amaze the crowd, it made a little girl cry – out of joy, of course.
Then 8-year old Marley was so sweet and adorable to recommend her dad for the ambush makeover segment of the high-rated show.
“My daddy is the best daddy coz he’s always around. He volunteers in my class and goes on field trips. My daddy takes me to the movies and out to dinner. He takes me to gymnastics, is my soccer coach and takes me to the father-daughter dance at my school,”
said Marley as their photos were being shown.
Meet Matt Roughton from Murrieta, California. A dedicated and loving father who is “always there” for his daughter, supporting her from school to her extra-curricular activities but there’s just one thing that Marley wishes her dad to do – to get rid of that beard!
“My daddy deserves a makeover because of his beard. It is too long! We have been trying to get him to cut it off for a long time. Daddy will look so much better without it. I know he will be very handsome,”
indeed, Marley knew what she wanted and as any loving father would do – Matt agreed to undergo the amazing transformation.
Marley stood there in the studio wearing a blindfold waiting patiently as her dad walks in. The crowd was in awe as they saw him and when she removed her blindfold, she wondered where her dad was!
It took a while before she realized that he was just there, and her reaction was priceless!
This little girl was mesmerized, well, everyone who saw Matt’s transformation would have the same reaction too.
She immediately hugged her dad and she cried. This little girl wasn’t able to contain her excitement, her surprised reaction, and happiness seeing her dad looking like a celebrity!
He looked amazing! Don’t you agree?
“I look like a CEO or something,”
it was Matt’s words when he finally saw his reflection.
Everyone cheered as stylist Louis explained that Matt was already handsome and he just needed a clean and fresh haircut. He didn’t even have to change his hair color because it was already “perfect”.
This transformation was beyond just looks, it was a strong bond of a loving father and a thoughtful and sweet little girl. The crowd cheered as they saw how amazing this makeover has turned out.
Even if there’s no occasion or event, we can always make our parents feel loved and special just by simple words of love. We all want to feel loved and cared for but we also need to take some time and make our parents feel that they are appreciated as well.
