There tend to be two types of people in the world: those who like cats, and those who don’t. The people in either group, tend to be on the extreme opposite ends of the spectrum from one another. Sometimes, though, those “cat haters” are actually secret cat lovers.

We found 40 times that people said they didn’t want cats but — it turns out they are big liars.

Even if you don’t want a cat, sometimes — the cat forces its way in anyway. These pictures are proof.

1. This cat doesn’t like anyone in the household except for the dad. The dad can’t stand the cat.

2. Her boyfriend said he wasn’t a big fan of cats. Yeah, okay.

3. She tells all their friends that she “hates their cat.” Boyfriend snapped this picture.

4. This guy boldly claims that he’s “not a cat person.”

5. Dad says he doesn’t like cats. This picture is screaming the opposite.

6. How could he possibly resist this cuteness?

7. “Me a year ago: I hate cats, they’re evil! Me, now, on my 4th set of fosters.”

8. For “not liking cats” very much, this sure looks suspicious.

9. He was against bringing a cat into the household.

10. He doesn’t like cats. He found a cat. Now he has a cat.

11. Dad claims he isn’t a fan of cats, but now his daughter gets pictures like this sent to her while she’s at work.

12. She talked her boyfriend into getting a kitten even though he was adamant about not wanting one. Five minutes later.

13. I believe this guy when he says he doesn’t like cats. But it looks like this cat is determined to change that.

14. “Growing up, my grandpa hated cats and told me that when my cats died, I wasn’t allowed to get more under his roof. They died. I got another. This is my grandpa.”

15. “I really hate your cat,” he says. Mmm hmm.

16. She isn’t a cat person either. I’m starting to doubt all these cat haters.

17. Grandpa didn’t want a cat, but now they are sharing snacks.

18. She claimed that cats were tolerable. Now there’s proof that it’s a bit deeper than tolerance.

19. “Not a cat lover,” yet won’t disturb the cat to close the curtains, so the sun doesn’t blare in his eyes.

20. If you don’t like cats, then how do you explain all of these selfies, sir?

21. His girlfriend gave him an ultimatum that it was either her or the cat. This is them now.

22. “Cats are jerks,” he said. Hmm.

23. Dad had major opposition to getting a cat.

24. Boyfriend didn’t want a second cat. Boyfriend didn’t know what he was talking about.

25. He can deny it all he wants but, look at that gaze. That’s love right there, people.

26. She convinced her boyfriend that they should start fostering kittens.

27. She was afraid moving in with her cat-hating boyfriend would end their relationship.

28. He was very against the whole “cat thing.”

29. Kitty knows he’s anti-cat. He persists anyway. Such a cat thing to do.

30. “After moving into my new place, my fiancée talked me into getting a cat. I’ve always been a dog person, and my fiancee is working the weekend..but I think everything is gonna be just fine.”

31. Those soft paws are pretty irresistible, aren’t they?

32. He wasn’t sure if he could handle living with cats. I think he’s okay.

33. Her dad says he wouldn’t pet the cat “under any circumstance.”

34. This person admits that even this little thing is too cute not to love, regardless of what they “normally” think.

35. Who really doesn’t like who here?

36. Boyfriend didn’t want a kitten, but kitten had other plans.

37. This person can at least admit that this little cutie changed their mind about cats.

38. “I am not a cat person, but this one has claimed me.”

39. This scene sure doesn’t help your case of “not liking cats.”

40. This guy totally proved that he “hates cats” by building them this awesome bunk bed.
