Kids can be incredibly courageous. Meet PJ Scott, a 12-year-old superhero from Indianapolis who was 11 at the time of his granny’s incident.

Angela Brewer-Laye, PJ’s grandma, almost lost her life in 2020 when her blood glucose levels had dropped to dangerous levels. The lady was lucky that her grandson acted quickly. The boy drove Mrs. Brewer-Laye back home all by himself.

Yes, the little one was brave enough to drive a car without any adult supervision. We bring you the whole story of PJ’s bravery to prove, once again, that children can always surprise us.

Angela Brewer-Laye and her grandson PJ are used to spending a lot of time together.

In an interview with 11Alive’s Kaitlyn Ross, Angela explained that PJ always helps her around the household.

“He’s an easygoing, sweet little fella. He loves to play outside.”

Moreover, PJ does the dishes and puts his clothes away without asking. We bet that his parents must be very proud for raising such a sweet young man.

Happy Birthday to this little hero!! Last week, PJ saved his Grandmother’s life – at just 11 years old, he drove her…

Our clever boy is by his grandma’s side while she does her daily exercise. Angela explained:

“PJ always rides his four-wheeler, or his go-kart or dirt bike, while I’m getting exercise-in.”

So was it on the faithful Tuesday when PJ showed off his unlikely driving skills.

Being an incredibly thoughtful kid, PJ immediately noticed when his grandma started feeling bad. To make things worse, they were a mile and a half away from home.

There was no way that Angela could walk back home to take her medications. It was an emergency; her blood sugar had dropped too low, to a point where she could no longer walk.

Mrs. Brewer-Laye said that she started feeling shaky and seeing spots in her vision.

Enjoying Life!!

Angela explained:

“I was about to go down to the ground, and that’s when PJ springs into action.”

Luckily, her little savior knew what to do.

PJ immediately took off, ran towards Angela’s home, and drove back his granny’s Mercedes-Benz back to where she was standing.

Since it was a medical emergency, Angela could barely stand on her feet. She made it to the stop sign, and PJ left her there to go back to the house. Incredibly, the boy found the car keys and drove to his grandma’s rescue.

At first, Angela could not believe her eyes when she saw her vehicle approaching the stop sign, and in it was PJ! The kid drove Angela to the house and got her glucose tabs and peanut butter crackers.

Little did Angela know that it wasn’t PJ’s first time behind the steering wheel.

PJ Scott always helps his Grandma. He’s only 11 years old, but Angela told me he does the dishes and puts his clothes…

As it later turned out, PJ’s grandfather asked the kid to move cars around in the yard on numerous occasions. Nevertheless, our 11-year-old driver had never driven on the street before.

Since the situation was urgent, PJ’s driving experience was about to change. Now, he can proudly add the first drive around the block to his resume.

Who would have thought that a child could be so calm and collected at such a young age?! Most adults would probably panic in PJ’s place, but he did everything like a champion.

Despite PJ’s humble ways, the proud grandma wanted to do something for her kiddo in return.

Of course, Angela had to reward PJ, and she took him out for his favorite meal, crab legs. It was also an early birthday gift because the boy turned 12 a week after it all happened. Additionally, grandma asked the little gentleman to repeat the ride once she recovered to film the whole experience.

The little boy earned a lot of praise on social media.

Dear Angela, you’re lucky to have such a brave boy by your side. Take care, you two. We surely know who won’t have any trouble passing his driving test.
