1. Air has mass

If you tie two inflated balloons on either end of a stick and allow one to deflate, you will see that one weighs more. That is simply because air has mass.

2. The disappearing balloon.

Use a long skinny balloon and inflate just a small part of it. Tie the balloon off and you will see that the small balloon in the middle can move up and down.

Use this trick to make your friends think the balloon has gone missing when it’s really in your hand.

3. Use the ‘force’ to shrink a balloon.

Put a balloon inside a large plastic water bottle and inflate it. Poke a small hole at the bottom of the water bottle.

With your finger closing off the hole, the balloon will stay inflated. If you take your finger off the hole, it will deflate.

You can make it look like you are controlling this with your other hand.

4. Make a balloon skim across the table.

If you have an old CD laying around, you can use it for this cool trick. Cut the top off an empty plastic soda bottle. Hot glue it to the middle of the CD.

Inflate a balloon and place it over the soda bottle opening. The balloon’s air will slowly escape and it will be moving on its own across a table or floor.

5. The ‘strong’ balloon.

Use the principle of weight distribution to shock your friends. Inflate a balloon and gently push it down over a bunch of nails.

It won’t pop at first because the balloon’s weight is being evenly distributed across the nails. If you were to use just one nail, it would pop right away.

6. The tape trick.

If you place a piece of clear tape on an inflated balloon, you will be able to pierce the balloon with a pin without it popping. It will eventually pop but not at first.

7. ‘Swallow’ a balloon.

If you have a long skinny balloon, inflate it and use a pin to pierce a small hole at one end.

You can then create the illusion that you are swallowing the balloon when in reality, the balloon is deflating.

8. The shrinking balloon

Take two inflated balloons of different sizes and connect them with a small tube. One balloon will expand and the other will shrink.

The smaller balloon has a higher amount of pressure inside so it will shrink and the larger balloon will swell.

9. Orange juice will pop your balloon.

If you squeeze fresh orange juice onto an inflated balloon, it will eventually pop the balloon.

10. The hydrogen balloon.

This trick is more dangerous so be very careful trying this at home and never in a forest.

In the video, Mr. Hacker uses water, aluminum, and a cleaning product to create hydrogen gas. He inflates the balloon with gas and it floats.

In the video, they also light the balloons on fire for a dramatic finale.
