Who doesn’t know Guns N’ Roses classic song “Sweet Child O’ Mine?” Nobody can forget one of the most excellent guitar solos of all time created by Slash. In this video, we see 7-year-old Zoe Thomson kill the guitar on the song.
This guitar solo is quite hard, and it’s fantastic to see her play it so well, even Slash had something to say!
How Sweet Child O’ Mine came to be.
The song, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” was released in 1987 and is performed by the band Guns N’ Roses. That band consisted of; Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin, and Steven Adler. The lyrics came from a poem the singer of the group, Axl Rose, wrote to his girlfriend.
However, the guitarist of the band, Slash, is known for coming up with that guitar solo, and he made it as a joke! He said he was just fooling around on the guitar, and it happened.
Everyone in the band loved it, except for Slash, and it went on to be one of the greatest guitar solos of all time.

The way Zoe plays makes it look easy. It’s hard to believe she only started playing guitar when she was five years old, only two years before this video was made! Her family has been super supportive, and this video is posted on the Newbury Rock School, which is a music school located in the United Kingdom.
Zoe Thomson has her own youtube channel, where you can find more of her guitar covers! Zoe is now 15-years-old and has played at many venues and has been featured on television shows around the world.
Not only does she have guitar cover videos, but she also has ukelele and singing videos!
She plays like magic.
The video starts with Zoe jamming the classic guitar intro, and the rest of the band joins in. She has no problem while doing this and switches to the chords with ease. Zoe just focuses, follows the beat, and continues playing the song with no problem at all.
The chord progression consists of three major chords from the G major skill, which is not for beginners. It is also incredible to see such a young girl play quite the classic.
Most grown adults can’t play the guitar this well in general, so to see a seven-year-old shred it, is incredible.
Slash himself even was amazed by Zoe and expressed admiration for the seven-year-old.
The guitar hero isn’t the only famous rocker to admire Zoe. Members of Metallica were also taken aback by her raw talent and has significant support for her music career.
