We might not all understand what it means to be “Instagram famous,” but 4-year-old Zahara Bean, aka ZaZa, does.
People couldn’t stop watching and sharing her adorable dance moves after Complex Magazine shared a video she posted (yes, she has her own account) of herself singing and dancing to “Water” by ScHoolboy Q in early 2019.
It’s already been viewed almost 2 million times now.
Some have questioned the grown-up moves juxtaposed with the Fisher-Price toy in the background (reminding us she’s just a small child), but it’s clear that ZaZa (and her family) have big ambitions. After all, she was once described on her profile as a “model and actress,” though the Lexington, Kentucky tyke’s bio now reads “4-year-old entertainer.”
It’s clear that the Internet is most interested in her dance moves since her formal Instagram account @zazathecreator has a little over 56,000 followers while her “finsta” (a less formal account, for those not in the know) where she shares videos, @redcarpetgirlz, has over 1.1 million.
Like so many viral Instagram sensations, people quickly began tagging The Ellen Show, since host Ellen DeGeneres is such a fan of dancing and loves to feature kids showing their moves.
In a clip released in September as a teaser for season 17 of The Ellen Show, we see that there will indeed be an appearance by the tiny dance sensation in an interview with Ellen’s resident DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who will guest host that day.
In the clip, we see first see her get the news that she’ll be visiting the show and meeting tWitch to which she replies “Oh Jesus, Oh Jesus.” Clearly she’s a fan.
When tWitch introduces her as “40 pounds of cuteness” she lives up to that by bouncing out in pigtails before striking some poses and chatting about her “bad and boujee (and cute)” personality and online presence.
And she’s got some major confidence, as evidenced by her answer to this question:
tWitch: who is your favorite rapper?
Zaza: Me
Ok, then.
After their chat, tWitch asked ZaZa if she’d like to show off her skills and she was all too happy to give the audience a performance.
As she walked over to the dance floor, a Fisher-Price car, hearkening back to her viral video, was waiting for her to serve as a prop. But ZaZa doesn’t need any props – she knows how to take center stage.
The little girl then danced to Chance the Rapper’s “Hot Shower” for an appreciative audience.
Then, as a gift – and perhaps to remind us that no matter how many adult moves she has, ZaZa is still a little girl – tWitch gives her a big surprise.
The 4-year-old is overjoyed to see a giant, pink dollhouse, appropriately dubbed “ZaZa’s House.” (Kids on the show are often gifted with elaborate toys.)
As the duo make their way over, ZaZa looks like she can’t wait to play.
And while she didn’t get to meet DeGeneres that day, the comedian-turned-talk show host did Tweet a video of the segment, adding that “ZaZa is our favorite kid of Season 17, and it hasn’t even started yet.”
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, before that happened ZaZa had about 858,000 followers on Instagram, but that’s now well over a million.
While we’re not sure if they’re going to be friends IRL, former supermodel Naomi Campbell even commented on ZaZa’s Instagram post with a clip from her appearance asking when the two were going to hang out.
We can only hope she’s enjoying her life as much as it looks like she is.
