Most millennials are aware that buying a house may not be something they can afford in their twenties, or even thirties. Renting and even sharing living spaces is now the norm.

Tiny house living and van life are on the rise among young people who are looking to live simply (and affordably).

But you don’t necessarily have to sacrifice space to achieve that, and Hannah Lee Duggan is the perfect example of how to make it work.

She’s just purchased a plot of land that’s fifteen acres, and has not one – but two rustic cabins on the property. You go girl!

There’s a lot of work to be done, but Hannah is up to the task. She already has experience renovating an old van which she bought for just $2400 on Craigslist.

The transformation is incredible and looks more cozy than most of my friend’s apartments.

The van came with her to her new cabins in the woods, and will surely have helped her learn a few things about DIY renovations.

If the cabins turn out anything like the van… we can expect them to be stunning!

But investing in a whole property is a lot more expensive than an old van, and will take a lot more time to transform into a home.

The deposit alone was the amount of all her savings… but she was determined to make it happen.

“I’ve always envisioned myself one day moving into the woods alone, with my own little cottage to play in. I just always thought it would be me as cute old lady… until i realized “huh, I don’t have to wait.”

She found the property through Zillow, and it was love at first sight.

Hannah is basically living the digital nomad dream.

She’s a talented seamstress and sells her clothing online, as well as bringing in YouTube revenue and PayPal donations from fans who love learning about what she’s doing.

She really engages with her viewers and brings them along for every aspect of her ambitious and adventurous housing journeys!

She’s already got plans in the works and a vision for what to do with her new cabins.

For instance, this adorable living room with a wood fire stove, is going to become her workshop.

The main cabin even has a second floor where she can make up a nice guest room. A second floor? As a millennial myself… I can’t even imagine what it’s like to have a home with any kind of staircase.

You can imagine all her friends are going to be dying to visit once it’s all ready to go!

We’re taught not to talk about money, politics, or religion growing up. But times are changing!

Making videos like Hannah and talking about the specific cost of making a dream like this come true is the key to inspiring others.

Who would have guessed this was such an affordable investment?

What was once a small office space for the previous owners, will soon become her dining space. And it leads right out to her backyard!

Okay, technically the entire 15 forested acres are her backyard… but this is a cool clearing with a fire pit and sitting area.

How much do you think something like this would cost?

Believe it or not, the down payment for this incredible property was just $11,700.

“I was very surprised that it doesn’t take a fortune to own land. Like, I’ve been paying $750 to rent an apartment for five years… a month!”

Now she’s just paying $370 per month, and gets all this land to herself!

Sure, you have to have enough for a down payment and be comfortable living extremely rurally. But if you compare it to the average cost of rent for a small one bedroom apartment in Minneapolis ($1500)… the difference is insane.
