Young Melia Rey was as unassuming as any other contender on The Voice Kids. On stage, while the judges have their backs on her, Melia stood in her simple garb, waiting for her cue to launch into her song. The judges, being unaware of who was singing and what they are about to hear, wait calmly as the young performer prepares to sing. Little did they know that they are in for a big surprise!
When the opening bars of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” filled the air, the judges were instantly taken by her extraordinary choice of song and Jenifer even noted that the song was a classic. A few moments later, Melia opened her mouth to sing and everyone just went ballistic!
She was singing with a flair that only belonged to a professional! She sounded so amazing that judges Jenifer and Soprano immediately pressed their button and turned. It was certainly something Melia did not expect to happen that early in her performance.
Melia’s family were totally psyched when they saw that two of the judges already turned for their girl. They might be on the sidelines but they were absolutely cheering her on.
The young performer continues on her song and amazes the two judges who already showed that they want her.
Not too long after that, an utterly amazed Patrick Fiori also turned his chair and could not believe his eyes when he saw that a young girl was actually belting a reggae classic from none other than the father of reggae himself!
This only made the young singer more driven to perform her best. Seeing just how much the judges appreciated her music certainly made her even more excited to sing her heart out. However, there is still one judge who has never turned for the talented girl.
Amel Bent’s concentration on evaluating Melia’s performance is evident on her face. She was quietly deliberating the girl’s voice but as expected, even she could not deny that the girl can really sing! Amel finally presses her red button and turns for the talented singer. Melia just got her four-turn response!
Just in time for Amel’s turn, Melia’s song intensified which prompted the judges to get up on their feet and groove to her amazing song. They were having such a great time and Melia Rey was absolutely in the zone!
Her voice was not only amazing. Even her energy and the sincere emotions put into her song truly touched the judges and the audience. The young girl was simple, but her talent is no mean feat. She definitely has a voice that deserved four chair turns from the judges.
The entire room’s energy was electrifying! Melia undoubtedly charmed the judges and her audience with her spectacular take on a highly iconic song. Not everyone in that room knew about her song but they all loved her performance.
If Melia began her song with a bang, she certainly made sure that it also ended on a great note. Everyone applauded her for her amazing rendition and the judges, still up on their feet, could only marvel at this exceptional girl’s talent.
After her song, the difficult part comes as Melia selects the judge whom she wants to be her coach. In the end, French singer and actress Jenifer won her heart and became her coach.
Although the fifth season of The Voice Kids already ended and Melia did not become the ultimate winner, I still believe that she is meant to make more amazing performances. She is such a remarkable artist and I cannot wait to see what’s next for her!
