The whole world is feeling so uncertain and low right now. Suddenly, going out to bars and restaurants is forbidden. Suddenly, we can’t be social and we can’t see our friends. At this point, it can even feel difficult to find joy and do fun things you used to enjoy, like dance or paint. It really feels like we’re at a stand still and, understandably, it’s putting us all in a bit of a shock.
That is exactly why we are all chasing any spurt of happiness we can find. We’re looking back on better days and, if there is someone on the Internet who can make us smile, we will definitely be paying attention.
Back in 2017, a man named Vico Neo decided to take his seriously impressive dancing skills to the Great Market Hall in Budapest, Hungary. It wasn’t too long ago, but it was a time when we were still able to go to crowded places like the Great Market Hall and socialize with fellow strangers.
Seeing him dance in a crowd is actually quite freeing, especially as we look forward to when we will be able to do that again.
Vico Neo’s public dancing also sparks a great sense of joy in our hearts. He is so happy and high-spirited, it is nearly impossible to not smile real big, from ear to ear, while watching this clip.
Neo’s specific type of dance is called electro swing, and it makes sense why. The way he moves his feet is pretty electric — the transitions and steps look so smooth and seamless as they hit right on the beat. He moves so fast, it’s almost hard to see just how he is making it look so effortless.
His legs look like a pool of silk!
The song he is dancing to is called “The Mojo Radio Gang” by Parov Stelar, an Austrian musician whose real name is Marcus Füreder. Not only is he a musician, but he is a composer, producer, DJ and designer. He produces a wide range of music genres from electronic to jazz, hip-hop to pop.
Basically, it is the perfect music for dancing, catharsis, and getting those good feelings out into the world.
As Neo continues to dance, strangers continue to pass by. Some people stop to watch though, which you can see in the background. They look truly fascinated by this young man’s talents and we can assume he probably made them feel a little happier that day!
The clip of Neo dancing went viral when it was uploaded to YouTube and now has over a million views. People who have seen the video all agree that seeing his expression of pure joy wide out in the open is so refreshing and wonderful to see.
While we may be at an uncertain stand still, it is moments like these that grant us the tiniest bit of hope and joy that we need to keep moving.
