For some time, cats have been prescribed feminine qualities while dogs are seen as masculine.
And maybe some women are more like cats and some men are more like dogs, but New Jersey stand-up comedian, writer, actress and author Jodi Miller says mostly itโs the other way around.
In one of her bits for Season 9 of Americaโs Got Talent she said that men were actually the ones who are more like cats and women are more like dogs.
โItโs a huge misconception that guys are like dogs and women are like cats,โ she tells the AGT judges. โWe have it backwards.โ
And all her reasons why were absolutely hilarious.
She goes on to explain how men, like, cats donโt really care about anything but their own needs while women just exude unconditional love, like a dog.
โGuys, you are like cats, you are aloof and emotionally unavailable,โ she explains. โWomen are exactly like dogs. Weโre exactly like dogs. โHey, where are you going? Where are you going? Where are you going? Where are you going? Where are you going? Can I go? Can I go? Can I go? Iโm going to wait right here. Iโm going to wait right here. Iโm going to wait right here.'โ
And so women, are willing to wait on their man. That is until they are distracted by something like shoes. And some of us, unfortunately, know how much dogs love shoes.
Cats, like men, are indifferent to the fact that their companion has come home. They only think about what that means for them, which is that they now have someone to feed them and clean up after they use the bathroom.
โWomen are like dogs. We clean up after ourselves, ladies youโve seen a dog vomit, eats it right back up,โ she says setting up her joke with a joke. โGuys are like cats. You just puke anywhere and make a huge scene about it. And then youโre like, oh my god, can you clean that up, itโs so gross, I donโt want to touch it you know.โ
Thatโs when the faithful dog comes along to save the day, just like a woman does when she is overly obsessed with her man.
โHere comes the dog. I got it, I got it, I totally got it,โ she says.
