Sometimes in life we take things for granted – including our health. Until you’re faced with a devastating situation it can be easy to not realize the beauty of even the most simple things.
Lori from Minnesota went through a difficult chapter that she’ll probably never forget. Overall, it’s what led her to the Makeover Guy’s salon chair.
Learning you have a serious illness has to be terrifying. This is what Lori dealt with. She even spent the Christmas holidays in the hospital battling it.
“I’m just ready to move forward and put that behind me.”
One of the side effects Lori experienced was hair loss, a challenge that can easily take its toll on a person’s confidence. But instead of chopping it all off to start fresh – she contacted Christopher Hopkins to help her feel fantastic again.
Christopher is a miracle stylist known as the “Makeover Guy.” He’s based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he’s performed countless transformations in his salon that he posts on YouTube. His videos are uplifting and undoubtedly inspirational.
She was in good hands.
Lori admitted that the last haircut she had was in her bathroom, and she was the one behind the scissors. So going to Christopher was surely going to be a huge step up!
When Lori caught glimpse of her new appearance, her reaction was priceless.
She was getting ready to meet her new self.
The Midwesterner was now so glamorous she looked like a movie star straight from the silver screen. Frankly, she didn’t even recognize herself.
“It doesn’t look like me at all. I need a different name.”
They responded so perfectly with, “Kitten.” Never mind world, say hello to Miss Kitty Cat!
Christopher had given her a shorter hairdo that was full, bouncy, and a beautiful ash blonde. Lori’s makeup was rich and accentuated her features.
She was completely stunned by the drastic change. Her eyes popped as she looked in the mirror.
“It truly is somebody else. I can’t believe it, can you?
Christopher explained how the style helped hide her scalp. He passed Lori a hand-mirror so she could take a peek at the back. She was surprised by how thick it seemed.
So, what magic tricks did he use for the transformation? The Makeover Guy shared some of his secrets on YouTube.
“We used a high lift tint to lift her a few shades to a natural ash blonde, avoiding any bleach or highlighting for her extremely fragile hair. A bit more brow and cooler pinky tones in her makeup give her some needed color.”
He also added,
“Her buzzwords were feminine, enchanting, and light-hearted. I think we accomplished it.”
Lori, or Kitten, expressed how the new look made her feel younger too. She told the crew,
“I feel like I’m in high school again.”
Fans of the Makeover Guy’s YouTube channel also loved Lori’s results. One person wrote:

Christopher and his staff helped Lori achieve a stunning appearance that seemed to boost her self-esteem after a dark cloud experience.
