When 36-year-old Pinky Jones ordered a $249.99 corner couch and ottoman set for her new home, she could barely wait for it to arrive. The family had just moved into a new house in Florida, which was completely unfurnished. Pinky, her fiancรฉ and their five kids were having to make do with bean bags.

After 10 weeks, the couch finally arrived- but Pinky and her fiancรฉ were in for a bit of a shock.

โ€œMy fiancรฉ was in when it arrived and he said it seemed small,โ€ Pinky told Lad Bible. โ€œI thought maybe it needed to be assembled to make shipping easier but when we opened it, it was just a tiny sofa.โ€

Despite being advertised as a five-seater, when Pinky sat on the couch, there was barely enough room for her, let alone anyone else. It was clearly a couch that would be perfect for small children- but nowhere on the website had explained this!

โ€œI had to laugh, itโ€™s literally a baby sofa,โ€ Pinky said. โ€œI would never have dreamed I was buying it for a child. I thought it was going to be an actual sofa, big enough for my living room.โ€

โ€œIt didnโ€™t say anywhere that it was for a child and it was listed in the living room section on the website,โ€ Pinky said. โ€œIt said it seats five so I thought at least the five kids would be able to squeeze on it and me and my fiancรฉ could sit on the beanbags for now.โ€œ

Pinky had bought the 22-inch-tall couch from a popular retail store, Wayfair, and it arrived with a patterned ottoman and five printed cushions.

In fact, apart from the size, it appeared to be exactly as advertised.

After a difficult childhood which saw her out on the streets, Pinky was proud to be able to purchase her own house, along with brand new furniture! So she sees the tiny couch incident as just a minor bump in the road.

โ€œItโ€™s annoying because now I have no furniture in my living room but Iโ€™ve had a sad childhood and Iโ€™ve been homeless,โ€ Pinky said. โ€œIโ€™ve been able to buy my own house now so Iโ€™ve been given too many lemons to complain, I just found it hilarious.โ€

Pinkyโ€™s five children are all grown up, so this tiny couch really wasnโ€™t going to work for them! But seeing the humor in the situation, Pinky decided to share a picture onto her Facebook page of herself sitting on the tiny couch.

She expected the post to only be viewed by her friends and family, but within no time it had gone viral- and was being shared by people all over the world, leaving Pinky thoroughly surprised!

โ€œI didnโ€™t expect it to go so big.,โ€ Pinky said. โ€œI posted it on Facebook just for my friends and when I came back to my phone it had just blown up. I couldnโ€™t believe it.โ€

Pinky and her family are still waiting for their couch to be refunded, so theyโ€™re back to having no furniture again. In the meantime, a GoFundMe has been set up to help with the costs of buying a new, full-sized couch, and has managed to raise an incredible $1,470.

An update to the page was shared on 3rd December, saying: โ€œThank you all for all of your help. We are working towards finding some consignment stores with furniture.โ€

We wish Pinky and her family the best of luck with their next couch purchase. Letโ€™s hope this one is a little bigger!
