And one of those quirks is that she likes to dance at bus stops.
Yep, you heard me right.
In fact, you donโt even have to take my word for it.
Hereโs what Ellie told The Daily Telegraph in an interview she did back in 2013:
โIโm just a normal everyday person who happens to like dancing at bus stops. Still to this day I find it hard to believe what happened with the video.โ
Back in April of 2013, Ellie was caught dancing at a bus stop by a woman filming her from across the street.
The video would end up changing Ellieโs life.
It racked up nearly 4 million views on YouTube when Jane Rowlandโthe woman who filmed and uploaded itโadded Abbaโs Dancing Queen as the background music.
Due to some copyright issues, Jane had to remove the video and then reupload itโwhere it racked up another 200k views.
On the TODAY show interview, Ellie said that her initial reaction to seeing the video online was, โOh, dear.โ
Jane was asked whether or not she was worried about violating Ellieโs privacy by putting the video of her dancing online.
She didnโt seem to think so and had this to say:
โIโve been watching her for months and everybody had seen her going along the streets. I videoed her because my friends asked, they wanted to see it, so I popped it on my Facebook page and the rest is history basically.โ
However, the viewers werenโt the only ones who loved Ellie in this video.
It also attracted the attention of writer/director Lynne Paris, who invited Ellie to be a part of the upcoming performance of โAH Menโ at The Point Theatre in Eastleigh.
No matter which way you slice it, this video is nothing but awesome.
It has brought joy to millions and inspired everyone whoโs seen it to dance like no one is watchingโฆ even if they are.
