A simple haircut can be just what we need to help us to see ourselves in a new light.
That’s exactly why Rida traveled from New Brighton, Minnesota to Minneapolis to see “The Makeover Guy” himself, Christopher Hopkins.
Rida had been following Hopkins’ incredible makeovers on the internet and decided that’s exactly what she needed in her life.
So, her daughters and son all pitched in to buy her a makeover from The Makeover Guy as a Mother’s Day gift.
But Rida received a lot more than just a haircut.
She received a silhouette analysis with The Wardrobe Woman, Joann Hopkins who advised Rida on what kind of clothing best suits her shape.
Apparently, she had a lot of outfit faux pas that Joann was not on board with.
“Oh, no no no no!” Joann told Rida about one of her style admissions.
Rida also got her makeup done which looked gorgeously complementary and natural.
As Hopkins explained, it’s very easy to do makeup in a way that ages you. His team does a phenomenal job of creating a flawless and youthful look.
“I don’t even see my wrinkles,” Rida said of her makeup job.
During her consult with Hopkins, he went over what color, cut, and hairstyle would suit her personality, body type, and skin tone.
Rida started with long straight dirty blonde to strawberry blonde hair that lacked shape or definition.
She had never colored her hair and Hopkins told her her original color was something people wished they could get.
So, he decided the new color would be subtle. Still, there wasn’t really much “style” to it.
“I’ve looked this way probably since I was a child. I want to look fun and I want to look different,” Rida told Hopkins.
She was looking for a look “completely out of her normal life,” as Hopkins put it.
And with that, he chopped a big chunk of her long locks off so that it fell just below her shoulder.
“Even that’s better right! So, it moves,” Hopkins explained.
By the time he was done, Rida was looking “pretty, sexy, sweet.”
He lightened her color a touch so that it was a lighter blonde. The color was even throughout since it had been darker at the top originally.
He kept her hair straight and shoulder-length with a few angles in the front.
He curled it a bit to give her some waves and threw in some hairspray to give it body and volume to pump up that sexiness factor.
“It’s so beautiful. That is very pretty!” Rida says. “It looks really good.”
Rida’s daughters thought so too.
“Oh my God!” they gushed holding their hands to their mouths when they saw mom’s new look. “You look so different. You look so nice! Gorgeous, gorgous, gorgeous.”
They were practically in tears. Mom was completely transformed and looked like a new woman, and at least 10 years younger to boot.
“Look at those sisters,” Hopkins joked, referring to Rida’s new rejuvenated look.
“I finally feel pretty again,” Rida said.
