Ah, April Fool’s Day, the most dangerous day of the year for unsuspecting friends and relatives.

While some jokes can easily get out of hand, one Green Bay woman found just the right mix of over-the-top and hilarious in an epic attempt to prank her husband.

Maureen Pritchard – along with her mother and sister, all three clearly prolific online shoppers – saved up six months worth of Amazon boxes for the occasion.

Then, on April 1st, Maureen taped them all up and put them outside the front door of her home so her husband Rob would think she had done some SERIOUS online shopping when he pulled into the driveway after work.

We’ve all been a little embarrassed to see those boxes piled up outside the door, but this is next level.

According to Pritchard, it took a long time to plan, but it was totally worth it.

In a Facebook post that now has over 3000 shares, she said:

“I’ve been planning an April Fools joke to play on Rob for MONTHS!! I got him good! I wish I would have continued to record right away when he came in the house. When he saw me recording out the window I thought he realized that it was a joke, but when he came inside he kept asking, ‘What IS all that?!?’ I had to explain that it was 6 months of saved boxes, from us, my parents and my sister!”

She recorded Rob as he pulled in the driveway (very slowly, no doubt taking in the astonishing sight) and got out of the car.

Once he saw her recording, she thought the jig was up, but no. Apparently, she’s such an avid online shopper that her husband believed it might be possible for her to get that many boxes at once.

“What was going through my head when I drove in the driveway was ‘Oh my gosh, what did she do now?’,” Rob Pritchard told CBS 58 News.

This video alone had nearly 800,000 views since April 1st of 2019!

He came into the house in disbelief wondering what on earth could be out there.

A second video shows Rob silently shaking his head and walking away, looking stunned by the scene.

“And so he came inside and I said ‘April Fools’ and he kept asking me what’s in all of them and I said ‘Rob, honey. They’re empty!'”

She was certainly right when she said she got him good!

Maureen also said the people had been driving slowly by her house all day, no doubt to marvel at or take photos of what they thought was one heck of an online shopping spree.

Of course, now the joke’s on both of them. They either have a lot of recycling to do or better hope they know someone who needs boxes – either way, that’s a lot of cardboard to break down and get rid of!

After the prank went viral, Rob said that he and some co-workers are formulating a comeback of their own.

We wouldn’t want to be Maureen next year on April Fool’s Day!
