There’s nothing worse than missing your flight.
Planes aren’t exactly like trains or buses. For starters, they’re a whole lot more expensive- and if you’re too late, then you’re usually going to be waiting a long time for the next one.
So when Cyn Symoné missed her plane, she was naturally upset. But as she entered the airport bathroom, she soon realized that she was in the right place at the right time.
“I missed my first flight to LA yesterday & had to catch another, I was so upset.. But now I know why!” Cyn said in a Facebook post that has since gone viral. “When I finally got to LAX baggage claim I went to the bathroom to check my little makeup y’all know me … & I heard a woman crying so hard.”
Cyn wanted to help the woman, but she was worried about intruding in a private moment, so decided to leave her to it.
But even after she left the bathroom, she couldn’t stop thinking about the distressed woman.
“I was thinking should I say something like “it’s gonna be okay,” but I was nervous and she was speaking Spanish so I didn’t know if she’d even understand me, ” Cny wrote. “I left and came back to the bathroom like 4 times while I was waiting for my bags to come down (full flight) and I heard her say “but the bus doesn’t come until tomorrow.””
Cyn was still not fully aware of the woman’s situation, but it was clear that the idea of being stranded in the airport overnight was incredibly upsetting to her.
Determined to help, Cyn offered to forward the woman some cash to arrange some other means of transport. She then offered to pay for a hotel for the woman.
It was at that moment that she realized that the woman wasn’t alone.
“I asked her if she had Zelle or CashApp she said no,” Cyn recalled. “So I asked her if I could pay for her a hotel until tomorrow and she stopped crying and opened the stall door AND I SEEN THE SLEEPING KIDS!”
As human beings, it’s in our nature to help out others in times of need. But many people wouldn’t go to the levels of kindness that Cyn did.
After seeing that the woman was with her babies, Cyn insisted on getting her a hotel. Not only that, but she arranged for her ride there as well.
“I felt so happy to help her , knowing I just be spending my little money on bullsh*t,” Cyn said. “So she rode with me to the Marriott and I got her a room.”

While she was in the bathroom, Cyn snapped a photo of the woman so that she could try and convince her ride to pick her up too.
Afterward, she decided that the photo would be a great way to encourage others to help in situations like these.
Cyn shared the photo on Facebook, and within no time it had received over 42k likes, as well as thousands of comments praising her for her kind actions.
“I wanted to share this because I kept thinking like HOW MANY PEOPLE CAME INTO THE BATHROOM HEARD HER CRYING FOR HOURS .. Didn’t know there were kids and kept going…. I’m glad I said something because she was super sweet and appreciative! And she had babies with her,” Cyn concluded.
Once she and her kids had settled into the hotel, the woman texted Cyn to let her know once again how grateful she was.
Thanks to Cyn, her babies had a safe place to sleep that night. It’s a moment that she’s not likely to forget about in a hurry.
