Professional Organizer Shows How She Lives In 90 Square Foot Apartment
She really does make good use out of her 12 by 7 foot space. But I’m not sure if I could sleep in that “bedroom” myself.

With over 8.5 million people calling New York City their home, and only so much land to go around, it’s no wonder that apartments in the Big Apple are tiny and overpriced.

So, how is it that one lucky woman managed to snag herself a sweet studio in Manhattan’s Upper West Side for only $700 a month?

Well, the place does come with one “very tiny” little catch – it’s barely larger than a walk-in closet.

At 90-square-feet, Felice Cohen’s microstudio is a lot smaller than most.

But, the amazing price just can’t be beat! Prime real estate in the affluent neighborhood, which is within walking distance to Central Park and the Lincoln Center, can cost upwards of $3,600 a month.

In this video tour, Felice shows us why downsizing to dollhouse-sized digs isn’t quite as bad as it seems!

Trading lots of space in favor of super low rent was a trade-off that this savvy organizing pro was willing to take. But, how in the world can a person cram their entire lives into a sliver of a room, and call it home?

Even though Felice has a background as a professional organizer, she still found it a challenge to turn the cubbyhole into comfortable living quarters.

Thankfully, her years of experience taught her one very important lesson:

“I knew you had to go up when you organize in New York City, so that’s what I did.”

One wall in her apartment is covered from floor to ceiling with shelves and baskets, which maximizes every inch of available space.

She’s turned a kitty corner into a reading nook, which also houses a small, old school TV set.

There’s even enough room for a full-sized computer desk and chair, where Felice spends her time writing and doing artwork.

There’s no kitchen, but Felice has created her own in-house eatery with a mini-fridge that holds the cold stuff, and a toaster oven for warming up food.

The latter also doubles as storage for her bananas, which may seem weird, but storing items in non-conventional places is just part of metropolitan city life.

As she puts it:

“In New York City, most people store their laundry in their stoves anyways.”

Felice did away with the sliding door on her closet and replaced it with a curtain.

And, unlike many women who are clothing and shoe hounds, Felice has only enough room in her closet for the absolute essentials.

The bathroom, which for some women is their second home, is surprisingly large for such a tiny little abode. It even has a standard sized toilet, sink, and a shower/tub combo!

Of course, everything is all squished together.

Sometimes that means Felice has to sit sideways and bang up her knees now and then. But hey, it’s better than a bucket and washcloth!

There’s not a whole lot of head room when it comes to her bed, which is loft-style and literal inches away from the ceiling.

It was so cramped, the first nice Felice slept there, she thought she’d have a panic attack!

It took some adjusting, but Felice is finally loving her smaller, simpler, and much cozier life.
