When it comes to style, it’s all about finding what works for you. Sure, we’ve got fashion trends, magazines, reality shows, and Instagram influencers that tell us how we should look. But what matters more than how we look is how we feel inside–and not everyone can raise our self-esteem.
Confidence is sexy, so imagine if you had a hairdresser who doesn’t just make you look good but also makes you feel good about yourself. Enter: the Makeover Guy, Christopher. Christopher Hopkins is from Minneapolis and is an accomplished singer and author.
But for many people in America, he is known as the Makeover Guy.
He opened his first salon, which bore his name, in 1990 in the KSTP television studios. There, he also appeared as a regular on the talk show, “Good Company.” He opened another shop in 1994 and also appeared regularly on the “Oprah Winfrey Show.”
Now, a lot of people know Christopher not for appearing on talk shows but because of his amazing skills in makeup and hair styling. His YouTube channel, meanwhile, showcases people who want–or need–a makeover that could potentially change their lives.
And one of the women who sought out his help was Penny.
She came all the way from California. Penny is a gorgeous and happy woman who wants a change of style. But she was afraid that she would end up looking like a “pinhead.”
Under Christopher’s guidance, that’s unlikely to happen, but Penny was still a bit nervous. She had blonde curls at the end of her hair, but she had graying strands near her temples. Penny had heard of Christopher before, and she was both excited and anxious to get her makeover.
It’s a good thing Christopher’s salons are always comfortable and snazzy-looking, which can definitely help the customer feel taken care of!
Christopher has a lot of experience transforming hairstyles. What he mainly does, though, is bring out the inner beauty of his customers. He has had experience with a variety of hairstyles, haircuts, and hair color. And all his customers think that he’s simply the best.
So, when Penny put her fate in Christopher’s hands, everyone knew it was going to turn out more than okay.
After the makeover, Penny couldn’t believe her own eyes.
The first words out of her mouth were:
“No. No, no… Oh my God!”
When she saw her reflection, she found it hard to believe she was looking at herself. She was even reluctant to touch her hair–which had become a fantastic rose gold color. Gone were yellow and gray ringlets. Instead, Christopher resurrected her hair into a bunch of lovely waves.
For Penny, it was like looking at a completely different person. The makeup Christopher used on her made her blue eyes pop and made her look at least a decade younger–far from the image of the woman who first walked into the studio:
Penny was over the moon with her brand new sexy look.
She said about her makeover:
“Look at me. This is a dream come true! This is exactly what I’ve always wanted. We didn’t talk. We said nothing… Nobody has ever been able to do this color.”
At first, Penny had been excited but nervous about what her new look might be, but Christopher didn’t let her down. Always one to exceed expectations, he gave Penny more than she could ever have dreamed.
In the end, Penny was so happy she said:
“I’m not gonna be able to stop looking at myself all night. It’s like an angel came down from heaven and said, ‘What wish do you want?’ and there it is.”
