There’s always that danger of discovering something that shouldn’t be there in public places.
You want to believe in the good in people but there are just some bad folks out there.
A female customer at Presidente Supermarket in Miami, Florida asked one of the employees if she could use their store’s private restroom.
The employee’s name is 42-year-old Ranulfo Villeda.
Villeda escorted the customer to the back, where the restroom was. But before she went inside, Villeda said he had to move some boxes out of the way first.
The customer agreed and let him rearrange the boxes. What she didn’t know was that Villeda arranged the boxes facing the toilet seat so that he could hide his phone.
One of the boxes had a hole and Villeda placed his camera phone inside the box and pressed record before he let the customer inside.
Before she could take off her clothing, she noticed a camera lens peeking through the hole of the box.
Thankfully, she checked it out.
When she checked the box, she saw the phone recording inside.
She exited the restroom, returned the phone to Villeda, and called the police.
When the police arrived, they asked to see the phone but Villeda said four things, “I turned it off,” “I no longer have it,” I threw it out on the street, and “I put it away.”
Villeda was arrested on one count of video voyeurism. He has also been terminated from the supermarket, after years of working there.
So many viewers were glad the female customer saw the camera before anything happened and offered advice to other people watching.
“I’m so glad she noticed!! She protected a lot of people from that creep,” Tess B. said.
“Be wary and discerning, everyone. Predators are everywhere. Hold them accountable!!!!” Del Del added.
“The only mistake that woman made was to turn over the evidence back to the owner of the phone. She should’ve reported to the police and handed it over to them. Unfortunately innocent people usually don’t plan and connive their next move quite as cleverly as malicious perpetrators do,” fattymoko shared.
“Makes one wonder how many times we’ve been secretly recorded without even knowing,” rafael cisneros asked.
“I’m sure more women will come forward if they ever visited that location and asked to use the restroom and he gave them the same line about going in to move boxes first,” 662E shared.
Leo Sosa, one of the shoppers at this supermarket, was astonished.
“Unfortunately, those people like that live amongst us. They’re sick people,” Leo told WPLG Local 10. “And they have to be punished.”
That’s true. We all need to be careful everywhere we go.
We never know if that nice guy helping us is actually the one who’s going to harm us. It’s a good thing this customer was able to spy the lens spying on her.
