Nobody likes to be stuck in an airport. Especially if you’re expecting to board a plane, only to find out you’ll be spending the night in the terminal for some unforeseen reason.
Most of us would sit around frustrated. But one woman decided to make the most out of it and take the time to dance.
Mahshid was traveling from New Jersey to Colorado for a wedding. However, she had to make a stop in Charlotte along the way.
When she got to Charlotte, she learned that she’d missed her connecting flight. Mahshid was stranded until she could catch a different plane in the morning.
She had two options. Mahshid could either waste time being upset – or, engage in the activity that made her the “happiest.” She went with the latter!
Dancing is way more enjoyable when you have others with you. So, she got random strangers to join in on the fun!
Mahshid chose the perfect song for the impromptu dance session – Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long.” One worker at a coffee shop couldn’t resist moving to the beat with her. Might as well burn the caffeine in his blood!
Her positivity inspired others.
Turns out, there were plenty of people at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport that felt like dancing – from workers to other passengers. Great way to brighten up everyone’s day!
Dancing isn’t the only way she amused herself.
Mahshid has a really good sense of humor and it shows. She shows her comical side by doing wacky things like sneaking a spray bottle from a cleaning cart to “freshen up.” It was a long flight and it’s going to be a long wait!
Even airline employees got to groove!
Airport jobs are stressful on a daily basis. All those people walking in and out with all those flights every hour… You get it. But thanks to Mahshid’s dancefest – workers were loosening up and grinning from ear to ear.

“…I didn’t want to sit in anger all night long, so instead I did what makes me happiest…DANCE!!!! Oh, and I made some really great friends along the way! Thank you for dancing your troubles away with me!!! :)

Lionel Richie’s hit “All Night Long” is really special for this lady.
According to CharlotteFive, Mahshid explained in an email:
“I used to sing this song as a child and it always uplifted my spirits and got me moving. Every time.”
She edited the dance video and posted it online. Of course it went viral!

She’s made so many people happy with this video. But Mahshid got an awesome surprise for it too! According to her YouTube channel, Lionel Richie sent her an invitation to attend one of his shows in Vegas. She even got to meet him backstage!
