It’s alright to be someone’s fan, or at least an enthusiastic follower.

Though some people don’t grasp the fine line between interest and obsession.

When that happens, people can take things a step too far.

Well, several steps too far. A whole staircase, even. Hannah Viverette had the scare of her life when she met one such person.

Hannah partakes heavily in social media.

Hannah’s platform of choice is TikTok, and we all know how popular TikTok is with the youth. The platform makes video sharing as easy as instant coffee.

Hannah is a dancer and lives by herself.

She’s young and, by a lot of people’s standards, attractive. That means she gets people’s attention.

As is usually the case with young women, she gets some unwanted attention too.

Her TikTok page has half a million followers already. That’s a lot of people watching her dance. It turns out that some of those people weren’t too far away from her.

One day, Hannah took out her phone to film herself dancing in her apartment.

She’d done this before and didn’t expect that day to be any different.

Well, she was wrong. Just as Hannah began dancing in the video, she can be seen turning suddenly to something off-screen.

Someone had found out where she lived and was watching her from behind a door.

He’d climbed down from the second apartment floor and gone unnoticed. Hannah was, of course, terrified. Wouldn’t you be?

“Who are you?!” Hannah exclaims with terror and a bit of ferocity

She repeats “Who are you?!” a couple more times, and then demands that he get out of her apartment. The creep asks her “Am I your friend?” and obviously got a “No!” from Hannah.

Don’t let the loudness of her voice confuse you, she’s still terrified.

Hannah fearfully retreats little by little and grabs her phone to catch a look at the intruder on camera. When she calls the police, she’ll have a bit of visual ID ready to go.

Still scared and not wanting to stick around, Hannah hurried to her neighbor’s apartment door and knocked for help.

The man was still near her apartment, and she couldn’t stay out there. Her neighbor was kind and empathetic enough to let her in. Thank goodness. The worst might’ve happened otherwise.

After a lot of fear and calling for help, her stalker was caught. I don’t know how long it took, but I can imagine Hannah probably didn’t sleep well for a couple of days.

It was a 36-year-old man named Angel Rodriguez Gomez.

Hannah had seen him around her block and near her apartment before.

And you wonder why women are so cautious and on-guard most of the time.

This encounter is pretty scary and unexpected, but it’s not exactly rare either. A lot more parents need to teach their sons boundaries, let’s just say.

Gomez was arrested and charged appropriately.

Burglary, second-degree assault, and of course, stalking. Good riddance. Hannah later showed Inside Edition how he was able to climb into her apartment.

Thankfully, Hannah was unharmed. She’s now taking self-defense classes and hoping this never happens again.

We hope so too.
