Wife hilariously throws husband under the bus in court when asked about running red light

Happily married couple has the courtroom rolling with laughter.

In the popular show, Caught in Providence, Judge Caprio hears the plea of one adorable couple who received a ticket in the mail for a traffic violation. The two came to court to fight it but the wife ends up telling the judge her husband is the guilty oneโ€ฆnot her.

Judge Caprio has questions for the couple.

When they walk into the courtroom, Judge Caprio says hello and Linda, the wife, introduces her husband to the judge. โ€œThis is my wonderful husbandโ€ฆI got the ticketโ€ฆhe was driving my car.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not guiltyโ€ฆhe is!โ€

Linda wanted to make it very clear that she was not the one at faultโ€ฆher loving husband is the one to blame. You can hear the judge chuckling as Linda goes on to tell him that her husband said he turned right on a yellow light. โ€œI said you went through a yellow light? Iโ€™m not paying itโ€ฆweโ€™re gonna fight this.โ€ Judge Caprio smiles and tells her she is going to have to fight the police officer who wrote the ticket.

The couple makes their case.

Linda tells Judge Caprio that her husband had been visiting their son, who was in the hospital after a car accident. He had been driving there three times a day and made the mistake of turning right on a yellow light on one occasion.

Oops, the traffic light was red.

After looking at the footage of the traffic violation, Linda realized the light her husband went through was in fact red. Judge Caprio says to her, โ€œSo you came here today to tell me heโ€™s guilty?โ€ Linda quickly says, โ€œIโ€™m not guiltyโ€ฆthe tickets in my name.โ€ Judge Caprio responds with, โ€œSo the first thing you did was throw him under the bus.โ€

Judge Caprio tells the couple that the husband went through a light that had only been red for .3 of a second. Linda realizes that isnโ€™t so bad but still thinks he is guilty.

โ€œIโ€™m not throwing myself under.โ€

When Judge Caprio asks her again if she thinks he is guilty, she replies in all honesty. โ€œWhen I looked at that videoโ€ฆif I was a policemanโ€ฆI would say he is guilty.โ€ โ€“ Linda told Judge Caprio. You can see her husband smiling and Judge Caprio laughing at the wifeโ€™s admission in court.

โ€œYes, dear.โ€

After telling Judge Caprio that they have been happily married for 43 years, Linda looks at her husband and asks, โ€œRight?โ€ Her husband immediately responds with a quick, โ€œyes dear.โ€

The entire courtroom erupts with laughter.

Linda smiles and Judge Caprio shares a story with the courtroom. โ€œYou know people ask me and my wife how long weโ€™ve been married and I say, โ€œweโ€™ve been happily married for five years.โ€ He goes on to say that he has been married for 50 years and happily married for five.

Guilty or not guilty?

When Judge Caprio asks Linda if he should give her husband the benefit of the doubt, she responds with, โ€œI would give him the benefit of the doubtโ€ฆand he has to take me to dinner.โ€ The courtroom is laughing once more and Judge Caprio dismisses the charge.
