If you’re like most Americans, you probably grew up on ketchup. You put it on eggs, potatoes, and even chicken. It’s also used as an ingredient for a number of dishes. With how popular and well-loved it is, ketchup is considered as an incomparable condiment and even the sauce of sauces.
However, despite its popularity, there are still people who are clueless about the actual uses of ketchup. Some use it as a dip for oranges while others add it to porridge and even cereals.
If you’re finding that hard to believe, check out these 27 photos that show people’s weird ways of using ketchup.
1. Chicken curry
Curry is good for you. It can help ease arthritis as well as reduce your risk of Alzheimer’s disease. If you’re not into its musky taste, adding a bit of ketchup might help, just like what this man is suggesting.

3. Poor porridge
You can add a lot of things to porridge to make it taste even better. However, I don’t think ketchup is one of them. Just looking at that dollop of ketchup should be enough to convince you not to try it out.

15. On a bowl of soup
I’m pretty sure this is not how you make a ketchup soup. To make one, you’ll need to put a small amount of ketchup in your cup and add hot water. You can add milk or cream to make it more nutritious and palatable.

Honey and butter go well with pancakes. Ketchup? Not so much.

It’s hard to say if this person was actually alright with what he did. Considering the way he moved the potatoes away from the ketchup, it looks like he regretted the decision.
18. On green beans
Boiled green peas aren’t fun to eat. Adding ketchup will not make them taste any better.
19. With a piece of roast beef
There’s too much ketchup and too little roast beef on this plate. It’s hard to say which one is the actual dinner.

If you ran out of pizza sauce, you can use ketchup as an alternative. Just make sure to take a good look at this photo so you can set your expectations straight.

Apparently, adding ketchup can help improve the taste of burnt toast. For this person, the ketchup does a good job in enhancing the flavor.
22. On a sad slice of pizza
This is the saddest looking slice of pizza I’ve seen. It’s loaded with onions that you can barely see the actual pizza. The ketchup made things a lot worse.
23. On waffles
For some people, waffles are way better than your average pancakes. They are able to hold toppings and syrups better. For this person, they go best with ketchup and a bit of butter.

Drawing a smiley face with the ketchup will not make this dish any better. He should have skipped the ketchup and just chose to stick with the original recipe.
26. On crackers
There are so many things that go well with crackers. There’s peanut butter, cheese, and even Nutella. If you don’t have any of them, just eat plain crackers. Don’t hurt your tastebuds by eating them with ketchup.
27. Overwhelmed
There’s a burger somewhere in this place. If you can scrape off some of the ketchup, you might be able to see it.
