Searching for the perfect wedding gown can be time consuming and exhausting. It can take weeks or months of research; browsing magazines, visiting boutiques, going to wedding expos. But when you’ve found the perfect gown for you — it makes your eyes light up.
Imagine finding that perfect wedding dress of your dreams and instead of making your eyes gleam with joy — it made your mouth drool. Yes, you read that right — a tasty dress. Well…sort of, anyway.
A beautiful designer gown was transformed into a mouth-watering life-sized wedding cake.
A cake designer named Emma Jayne Morris owns Emma Jayne Cake Design — she wanted to make a cake that would stun her audience at London’s Cake International. This event is a trade show that gives bakers the opportunity to show off their skills.
“We were asked to choose a wedding dress designer and make a cake based on one of the wedding dresses. I was asked to make the only life-size wedding dress and chose Mak Tumang as his designs stopped me in my tracks. They are simply incredible.”
The fashion designer happened to be at the trade show — seeing his dress transformed from gorgeous to delicious.
There’s no surprise that the photos of her incredible creation are going viral. People simply cannot believe that this is not, in fact, a wedding gown. The details of the decorations look uncannily lifelike.
You won’t be slipping this dress on for a try but there’s no doubt it makes for a glorious visual treat. There’s no wonder this realistic dress cake was making people do double takes at the cake show.
Her hard work had paid off, as she was turning heads at the trade show and making thousands of rounds on the internet. But it wasn’t an easy task to get the dress from her kitchen to the event center floor.
Take a look at some of these facts about this creative confection.
It took 10 long days to complete the cake. She made the dress in her own home.
She used 132 pounds of fondant for the dress and 110 pounds of modeling paste for the flowers.
The dress cake was 4 feet wide and 6 feet tall; taking 6 people to load it into the van.

It’s almost a bit unfair that something so beautiful is edible! It’s so tempting to nosh on a delicate sugary flower but you’d never risk ruining all of this incredible work. We’re beyond impressed.
