Weddings are more than just formal celebrations of two people falling in love. Planning a wedding gives a new couple the chance to show their family and friends how well they work together, how creative they are, and how they will structure their lives. You’ll never guess how this couple chose to add their own flair to their wedding ceremony.
Asia and Maciek wanted to add a personal touch to their wedding. When a couple does something unique at a wedding ceremony, it shows their guests how compatible they are on a personal level. That is exactly what this couple did on their big day.
Most weddings are extremely formal: the bride is dressed in an elegant white dress and often adorned in fancy shoes and elaborate jewelry, the groom is dressed in a tuxedo, and there is an air of rigidity in the ceremony. This is not what Asia and Maciek wanted in the day that marked their new lives together. They decided to make the center of attention their first dance together, not their clothing. The result was absolutely amazing.
Asia decided to switch out the floor length dress for an elegant but much more mobile white dress, and she traded in her heels for some dance-ready flats. Maciek also went for a more practical look, sporting dark jeans and a black polo. This might seem like a strange way to dress for your own wedding, but when the couple began their first song it was immediately obvious why they made the changes.
Asia and Maciek wowed their guests with a flawless performance to “Time of My Life,” the song from Dirty Dancing. They started out in the center of the dance floor, but made use of the entire area as they brought the film scene back to life. The two could not stop smiling at each other the entire time. No one in the room could doubt that these two love birds were made for each other.
Maciek twirled Asia around the room, but the bride stole all the attention. She amazed the audience with her talented feet and perfect rhythm. As the song began to end, they brought more people out onto the dance floor – Dirty Dancing style. The couple closed the routine with a classic move: Maciek held Asia above him in a pose that must have taken hours of practice. Finally, the couple waved for all of their guests to join them. Everyone in the room was having a blast. Asia and Maciek’s first dance may not have been traditional, but it was definitely memorable.
By giving up the fancy clothing and instead of breathing more life into their wedding ceremony, this couple proved that their main focus is on each other. Their creativity and fantastic dancing skills remind us that when you love someone, every day with that person is paradise.
