A weatherman made a lot of hearts melt when he proposed to his girlfriend, the news anchor who was with reporting with him, on live television! It was such an endearing moment that was all caught on camera.
Justin, the weatherman for KHQA-TV, was giving the weekend weather forecast but clearly, he was anxious while giving his regular spiel. As he reported about the temperatures that were expected to take place in the following week, Justin suddenly cut-off his newscast to give way to some more important news!
“But, real quick, I just want to stop the newscast. I have a question I need to ask you, Alexis,” said the weatherman who is now clearly up to something.
At that moment, Justin walked towards Alexis, the newscaster, and dropped on one knee. It was a moment that nobody, especially Alexis, could have anticipated!
But, it was actually happening and what Justin said on live television could be nothing but the sweetest words you’ll ever hear. He placed a small, white box that got Alexis smiling brightly and went on with his heartfelt proposal!
“Well, this may be the last weekend, but I want this to be the start of the rest of our lives together. And Alexis, will you marry me?”
Justin was not taking his eyes off Alexis as he asked the question, nervously waiting for the newscaster’s answer. Alexis, who could not keep herself from smiling and laughing, finally gave a resounding “Yes!”.
It was such a lovely moment that was all so spontaneously done, leaving Alexis in a mix of delight and sweet surprise. She definitely looked happy and quite not believing what just transpired.
All she could say was “Thank You” and she was so surprised that she was lost for words. Who could blame her? She was totally shocked but in a really, really good way.
Justin, now relieved to know that Alexis agrees to marry him, sat next to Alexis by the news table and thanked everyone who was watching the program and why he decided to do his marriage proposal on live TV.
“I just wanted you all to be a part of that because we’ll be leaving here soon and yeah, I’m leaving for better places and greener pastures. And you, guys, have been wonderful to us and we’re gonna miss you, guys,” shared Justin.
But, no matter how pleasantly shocked Alexis was with the weatherman’s proposal, the news anchor knew that the program must go on. Still ecstatic and full of joy, Alexis went on the deliver the next news item.
After her newscast, Alexis finally can’t hold her excitement anymore and held her hand up to show the ring and exclaimed: “I’m engaged!”
Justin also continued the report on the weather that he cut-off to make way for his proposal and Alexis ended the program with a heartfelt “thank you” for Justin’s weather report and “other things”.
