This unconventional tip changed a selfless waitress’s life.

Chelsea Roff is one of the among the most selfless people you will hear about and someone who certainly deserves good things to come her way.

She has raised her younger sister since she was just a little girl. She’s also faced an extensive battle with an eating disorder. Now, she puts her experience fighting that eating disorder to good use, running a nonprofit that helps others overcome their similar challenges through yoga. To make matters worse, Chelsea’s car is in very bad shape.

With so much going on in her life and her current financial struggles, Chelsea was a prime candidate for Prank It FWD.

To prank it forward, the team sent their top tippers to Chelsea’s workplace, Spring St. Smoke House. They had a single goal: delivering Chelsea’s best shift ever.

To make the day go off without a hitch, the team had numerous accomplices, including their top tippers and people Chelsea worked with. Chelsea’s very first yoga teacher, Diana Roehl, even flew into town to surprise her! Before the surprises, Diana said:

“I know Chelsea. When she gets all of these surprises, she might just faint. And she deserves every minute of it.”

The first tipper orders a half slab of ribs and a baked potato. In addition to paying $20 for his meal, the people behind the scenes instruct him to leave $1,000 on the clipboard the restaurant uses for bills. Then, he walks out before Chelsea sees how much he paid. When she does, she looks incredibly shocked, and rightly so. Then, she goes to count it and can’t believe she just got a $1,000 tip.

Showing her giving nature, Chelsea didn’t want to keep the entire $1,000 tip; she wanted to share it with everyone else working.

The gifts just keep coming, and Chelsea’s second huge tip is from a couple who work at a travel agency. They tell her they only have enough to cover the bill, not a tip. Instead, they insist on giving her vouchers for two people to go to Hawaii. Chelsea tries to stop them:

“Your bill is only like $30!”

But they insist, and she ends up with two tickets. Behind the scenes, Chelsea’s boss, restaurant owner Chris Patterson, says:

“Believe me, Chelsea deserves a vacation.”

Next up, Chelsea waits on a doctor who is reading a yoga book, something Chelsea is passionate about.

Showing her incredibly friendly, helpful personality, Chelsea is completely honest with this customer when she asks how Chelsea got into yoga:

“I had an eating disorder when I was really young. I came out of treatment and my therapist said, ‘I think yoga would be really beneficial for you.’ It was life changing.”

The customer in question, Dr. Susan Krevoy, is a clinical psychologist. She says:

“I was just so taken with her [Chelsea’s] story and how hard she worked to go from the bottom of the pit to the top.”

Dr. Krevoy invites Chelsea to teach yoga at her new nonprofit to treat eating disorders. This is essentially Chelsea’s dream job, perhaps the most life-changing of all the tips she’d get that day.

The final customer in on the deal gives Chelsea the bill and payment back, with a car key on the clipboard.

When Chelsea tries to hand it back to the customer, she responds:

“That’s your car key.”

And then she takes Chelsea outside. When the car pulls up, Diana hops out of the driver’s seat. So, not only did Chelsea get a car as a tip, but her old friend was inside of it.

One of her co-workers and friends, Audra Walker, said:

“No one else is more deserving than Chelsea. It’s extremely inspiring for me in my life.”

Her friends and co-workers end the video by praising Chelsea for her hard work and all she does for the good of others.

Today, Chelsea continues giving back as the director and founder of Eat Breathe Thrive.

She’s also written award-winning book chapters and articles and presented numerous seminars and lectures. Her best shift ever truly gave her the opportunity to expand her good deeds.
