Life is all about balance. We have to work hard to make money, provide for our families, and care for our households. But on the other hand, it’s important to make time for a little fun too.
Regardless of your career, if there’s a positive way to incorporate some joy and laughter into your day, nothing should stop you from doing so. And to go along with this point – the two men in the video below are a great inspiration.
Both of the guys are in the military, so surely deal with lots of stress, anxiety, and physical pain. However, they discovered they could take a break from it all through dance.
If these two can take one of the most crucial jobs and make it lighthearted and fun, then we have no excuses!
Two soldiers put aside the seriousness of their jobs for a moment to perform a choreographed dance routine to Mr. Eazi’s, “Akwaaba.”

Mr. Eazi is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He’s known as “the pioneer of Banku music” which is “a mixture of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and patterns.” Essentially, it is a subgenre of Afrobeat mixed in with reggae, R&B, and hip-hop but can also be played mellow.
Since its release, the song has taken on a life of its own, birthing another internet dance challenge.
There are online tutorials where professional dancers teach the routine as well as amateur dancers doing their best to perform a version all their own.
The two soldiers are talented dancers who decided to get in on all the fun.
Dressed in their green uniforms, the two men perform in an undisclosed location but it looks like a big garage. Their names are also unknown but based on the caption of the video, one of the men is named Adrien. However, links to their social media handles have since expired.
The two friends march in rhythm to the beat.
Similar to the “left, right, left” marching style. But of course, this routine calls for much more hand movement and less rigidness. They extend an arm into the air on every fourth downbeat. Let’s just say the dance looks like a blast to do.
As the camera moves with the duo, we can see one of their peers in the background. He’s working with on object, completely unphased at the dance recital happening before him. This just may not be the first time this duo has broken out in a dance routine.
After about thirty seconds of dancing alongside each other, the man on the left takes centerstage and busts out a solo dance performance. Interestingly, he looks a lot more comfortable and “loose” during this solo part than he did dancing with his partner.
Eventually, it’s time for his buddy to get back in on the dancing magic.
The solo dancer moves away and the other guy takes the spotlight.
But the tables have turned as his friend who looked a lot more comfortable with dancing with his buddy looks a bit more shy dancing alone in front of the camera. His solo is much shorter than his partner’s.
This just might be how their friendship works so well, they balance each other out!

Hopefully, this duo keeps finding positive moments to sprinkle into their days. And since dancing is good for the mind, body, and soul – maybe we should be taking a page out of their books on that too.
