Two pit bulls create tight bond as they wait to find a home
This is so rare two see. Especially among two unfamiliar pit bulls.

Anyone who has seen how pit bulls Agatha and Jukebox hold and comfort each other can testify that these dogs share a bond like no other. And what’s more amazing is the fact that they did not grow up with each other at all! They were raised in separate places and yet, when they met at the shelter, everything seemed to fall into place for both dogs.

The two dogs came to the Pima Animal Care Center on separate occasions.

Agatha was surrendered by her owner while Jukebox was a stray. They differ in a lot of ways but when they met each other, the bond that was created between them was undeniable.

The people at the shelter could not believe what they were seeing. The two dogs instantly connected and it was something rare they don’t witness every day.

“Typically when a bonded pair of dogs come in the shelter, they’ve spent their whole life together,” Kristen Hassen-Auerbach, director of animal services, told The Dodo. “But with these two, they didn’t know each other. They met in a playgroup one day and from the second they laid eyes on each other they became inseparable.”

As newcomers in the shelter, the two pit bulls were struggling to adjust in their temporary home. The shelter staff believe that being friends with each other helped both pups have a smooth transition from their previous lives.

“Despite the fact that they are living this life of confinement, which is super stressful on most dogs, they take so much comfort in each other’s presence,” Hassen-Auerbach further said.

Their friendship is so amazing that they even share a single kennel.

It’s not that the shelter has no room to spare for each of them. It’s actually because they can’t stay away from each other.

They spend all their time together and love to snuggle when it’s light’s out. They are completely inseparable and people at the shelter love how sweet they are towards each other.

“There’s plenty of space for them to stretch out,” Nikki Reck, public information officer for Pima Animal Care Center, told The Dodo, “but they share that tiny little bed together and that’s how they prefer it.”

When the animal center posted these adorable dogs’ photo on Facebook all snuggled up, a lot of people reacted positively and were touched by their incredible bond. Everybody yearned to see Agatha and Jukebox get adopted together.

Although it is not the animal center’s directive to look for potential owners who would like to adopt two pups at the same time, they simply can’t bear the fact that these dogs may be separated once adopted.

“Typically we don’t say ‘these two have to be adopted together’ because that makes it take longer for them to find a home,” Nikki Reck said. “But with these two, we just can’t bring ourselves to split them up, so we’re hoping against hope that we can find a home for them together because the two of them are meant to be.”

They are still waiting for a family to adopt them but until then the pups never miss the opportunity to catch the attention of people walking by their kennel. They do tricks and funny acts and, of course, they show just how much they adore each other.

The management at the animal center are truly hoping that these dogs soon meet a family who will accept them both as much as they have grown to love Agatha and Jukebox.
