A lot of women dream of being selected for the TODAY show’s Ambush Makeover segment. That’s because the stylists help bring people’s inner-beauty out with their transformations, and many times, leave them looking younger too.
One set of makeovers that proved sometimes the hands of time can be turned back, took place when 48-year-old Trish Sutton was pulled from the audience. In the end, even her daughter thought she could pass for their sister!
Trish was the mother of six children, with five being adopted from other countries. She was also a business owner, animal rescuer, and overall “super mom” to say the least.
The Florida resident was thrilled to be chosen by Louis Licari and Jill Martin for a well-deserved makeover. Some of her kids were there for support, with one daughter gushing:
“My mom is the most loving and kind person I’ve ever met. She’s literally willing to do anything for anyone.”
54-year-old Kristi Tays was the second woman picked that day by the Glam Squad. She had been nominated by her sisters during their NYC girls’ trip, in celebration of her upcoming birthday.
Kristi, who was also from Florida, didn’t really do much for herself when it came to the “pampering department.” She didn’t wear makeup and had let her hair become a salt and pepper gray, giving her an older appearance.
Both ladies were whisked away by the stylists for their dream makeovers. If you’re a fan of the TODAY show’s Ambush Makeover segment, then you probably know that the reveals are the best part.
First, it was time to meet the new hot mama, Trish!
What’s always fun about the reveal portion of the segment is that family members are forced to wear blindfolds while their loved one walks out. When they pull them off, their reactions are usually priceless.
Four of Trish’s kids joined Kathie Lee and Hoda on stage and anxiously waited to see their mom’s new look.
Hello, beautiful!
When they pulled off their blindfolds, there stood a gorgeous, fresh-looking Trish that frankly looked like a teen herself. Of course, they couldn’t help but freak out a bit.
Then it was Trish’s turn to look into the mirror – and she too was shocked by what she saw. One of her daughters exclaims:
“She looks like our sister, not our mom!”
The moment is so emotional that both Trish and her kids need tissues. Now, that’s the kind of results that most of us would be seeking!
Drumroll please for the brand new Kristi…
All of Kristi’s family members are given blindfolds as well so that the audience and hosts are the first to see her. And oh boy, does she look like a younger woman!
The stylists colored her salt and pepper hair, gave her a fresh face of makeup, and also dressed her in a sleek black outfit.
But what would her loved ones think of the look?
By no surprise, everyone went nuts taking off their blindfolds. Even Kristi herself shrieked and bounced around by the sight in the mirror.
What’s amazing is that seeing her before and after is like looking at mother and daughter.
Both Trish and Kristi were excited about getting makeovers beforehand (maybe slightly nervous as well), but there’s no question they were pleased with their youthful results.
