It’s often said that there’s nothing cuter than a giggling baby. You can go a level deeper on the cuteness scale when you have two newborns giggling together. Well, this video breaks the scales when two identical twin newborn babies have a full-blown conversation.
Two for the price of one, and your heart melts into a gooey mass of smiling pleasure. Babies checking each other out as if they were looking in the mirror, and continuing a symposium that seems to have started in the womb. What are they talking about, and do these two share the same brain as well as looks?
What’s with this secret bond between twins?
Identical twins have a lot in common, such as hair color, eye color, height and weight, and facial features.
According to The Twin Project at The University of Texas, the only sure way to tell if twins are identical is through DNA testing. But 95% of the time…
“If distant relatives, new friends, and teachers can’t tell you apart, then you are probably identical twins!”
Even though it can’t be measured scientifically, there’s anecdotal evidence that twins have mental telepathy. In an article for Very Well Family, they explain,
“It’s generally accepted that such incidents are signs of a deep emotional connection that produces an intense sense of empathy, strong enough to generate physical sensations, such as feeling pain when a co-twin is hurting.”
It’s quite an exceptional experience, seeing these two twins gab it up, looking into each other’s eyes, seemingly knowing what the other is thinking and feeling.
The bond is strong with these two.
The website HealthyChildren.org, states that at three months old, a baby can follow moving objects and begin to develop a social smile. These twins must be advanced, they not only smile socially but they watch each other’s faces intently, reaching out to touch, and partake in a deep conversation. There is such an obvious connection between these two, they seem to finish each other’s sentences.
Youtubers, TiK_, agrees,
“That was the most meaningful conversation I have ever seen.”
Many Youtubers have offered their own translations of the giggling and cooing.
Youtuber, ladybug, interprets,
“Hey roomie remember me? Yea that was fun hanging out together in that warm bathtub.”
Youtuber, andrewkful, hears,
“You have a nose! It’s like MY nose!”
It’s estimated that around three percent of the population are twins, so these two are unique as well as adorable.
With such a low probability, it seems that identical twins arrive by chance. But some twins have taken advantage of societies heavy fascination with the doppelgängers. Some well-known twins put their identical looks to use with strong work ethics and stellar talents to stand out among the truly uncommon.
Famous twins include actors James and Oliver Phelps, known for their roles as the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter movies; Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, who developed their notoriety as child stars into a successful worldwide brand; and former President George W. Bush’s daughters, Barbara and Jenna Bush.
Watch the video below, but be prepared to experience a new definition of adorable. Your cuteness meter will need to be readjusted accordingly from this day forward.
