In 2o14, David Fredericksen said he witnessed a miracle. He was driving his semi truck on I-10 in Biloxi, Mississippi when he witnessed a terrible accident.

He said it was an act of God that prevented him from arriving 20 seconds earlier which would have made him one one the crash victims.

But the real miracle, he says, occurred after that.

The accident was caused when a grandmother T-boned an 18-wheeler while attempting to merge on the interstate. There was a giant explosion of fire and car parts flew everywhere. Fredericksen was sure that there would be no survivors.

But he had to check nonetheless.

He grabbed his fire extinguisher and ran toward the flaming wreckage praying that he wouldn’t come across any people suffering from their wounds.

“When I got out of the truck and I pulled the pin, I just automatically started praying, ‘God please don’t let me have to deal with somebody halfway burned alive, screaming, or have to see kids in here,” he told The 700 Club. “My first reaction was that they were dead.”

He was extinguishing the flames of the wreckage when he saw a tiny head pop out of the back window and was astonished to find that someone was alive.

Inside the car a woman and her 2-year-old granddaughter. She was trying to kick the door open to no avail.

Fredericksen tried to pull the door open but wasn’t able to. Finally, others stopped to help and Fredericksen was able to pull the child to safety while the others pulled her grandmother out of the car.

He says it was nothing short than the hand of God that saved them all that day.

“The car was on fire, and I didn’t burn my hand,” he explains. “It was hot. I believe that he protected me and protected them. When you have a relationship with God, the supernatural happens all the time. God puts people where they need to be. That little girl— God’s got a purpose for her, and that’s why he protected her that day.”

Fredericksen says that he isn’t the hero in this situation, God is.

“I don’t feel it’s heroic,” he told Jalopnik. “My actions were because of my love for God and love for people. Because it does make a difference. If anyone learns anything from it, I want them to know, if they see these trucks out there, they’re not bad people with aggressive drivers. They’re good people.”

The amazing rescue was caught on video. Watch it below.
