Our kids often get excited about fancy things around them, such as fast cars, and they sometimes make statements about buying one. Parents usually explain that these are expensive things that require a lot of money and that they might be lucky enough in the distant future to buy them only if they work hard.
Almost always this seems to work and rarely do kids get obsessed with buying such things, but when they do, it seems they can go above and beyond to make their dream come true.
Like a 5-year-old boy from Ogden, Utah, who had always been asking his parents to buy him a Lamborghini.
Of course, his mom explained that she could not afford it and maybe she got tired of him repeating his request and argued with him, making it clear that she was not going to buy one for him.
But the boy wouldn’t take no for an answer, and when his parents refused to buy the fancy car for him, he decided to go buy it himself. So, a few days ago, while his parents were away from home and he was being supervised by his teenage sister, he came up with a plan.
As soon as his sister fell asleep, the young boy took the car keys, got in the family SUV, and drove off. Destination, California to buy a Lamborghini. In his pocket, $3!
So, he started driving, and, somehow, he found himself on Interstate I15.

Turns out it was this young man, age 5, somehow made his way up onto the freeway in his parents’ car. “Somehow made his way up onto the freeway in his parents’ car. Made it from 17th and Lincoln in Ogden down to the 25th St off-ramp SB I-15,” read a Tweet by the Utah Highway Patrol.
And, as he was driving at 30mph, he drew the attention of a trooper, who thought it was an impaired driver. So, the officer pulled him over and was ready to go meet the “weird” car driver. Although, he had no idea what he was going to face.
“When I got to the window and the window came down, I wasn’t quite sure what to think,” officer Rick Morgan told Fox 13.
Officer Morgan saw the young boy sitting at the edge of the car seat, stretching his legs to keep his foot on the brake. Then, he asked his age and was surprised he could drive a car at only 5 years old.
Of course, the boy was taken back to his family, who had definitely been through a lot of stress during his absence. According to CNN, it is up to the local prosecutor if he will file charges against the boy’s parents who left him with his teenage sister while they were away.
Still, the story is not over.
The boy’s dream of buying his own Lamborghini may be postponed, but a Lamborghini owner decided to surprise the little fast-car lover.
So, just one day after his story made it to the news, Jeremy Nevis drove to Ogden to give the boy a ride in the luxury car.
It goes without saying, that the boy was super excited. And, he’s going to be even more it seems, as a business in California offered to fly him to California to drive a Lamborghini, only he will be supervised this time!
What a crazy story and what determination this boy had!
