Few things are more adorable than a small child singing to an even smaller child.

3-year-old Lyla, from Vancouver, Canada, was captured in a video singing to her newborn sister. When listening, one cannot tell what song Lyla is singing, but do the words really matter?

“Baby so cute, baby so cute,” Lyla begins, following it up with a toddler’s rendition of a sweet lullaby.

Lyla sings to her baby sister, Kennedy, as she lies down to sleep. Towards the end of her song, Lyla tells her little sister how many people in the world care about her and begins to list them. She starts with their parents, who were likely filming the precious incident and undoubtedly melted by the moment.

She then lists the nanny and their grandparents before ending with “you, and me.” The mom told Lyla “it was a beautiful song,” and Lyla thanked her mother for the kind words.

Kennedy was just two days old when this video was taken, making Lyla’s sisterly song one of the first she’d ever heard. The mother, no doubt exhausted from giving birth just a few days before, was likely prouder than she’d been in a while.

“Big sister is just so very precious,” wrote one commenter on Facebook. “Those eyes and song are so beautiful. Little sister is so good, she is lucky to have this special big sister.”

“A child with love and tenderness taught by family,” wrote another. “Such a difference than the children posted [to Facebook] sassing and arguing with their parents.”

“So important to connect while young,” offered a third. “I held my beautiful brother on the way home from St. Luke’s Hospital. I was almost 7 [years old] and always loved him dearly.”

With Lyla welcoming her newborn sister with a wonderful song, it’s not much to think they will become very close as the years go by.
